Boom! Oars's massive blade struck the Harbor, but no one was there.

Werther did not stop. He leaped up, and pale blue sword light flashed again.

Three heavy impacts sounded across the Harbor. First came the enormous right leg Werther had severed. Then came Oars's lower body, cut away below the chest. Last came his upper body.
Demon Oars was cut into three pieces by Werther's two strikes.
Oars had been gripping his blade with both hands as he attacked, so his arms were still attached to his upper body.
His upper body fell where Werther had just stood. As blood poured from him, his consciousness began to fade.
Blood gushed from Oars's wounds like a fountain. Werther flashed onto his body and plunged Intent Blood into him.
Werther immediately felt the immense Life Force Intent Blood was drawing in.
Intent Blood had grown pickier lately. It no longer absorbed Life Force like Oars's, plentiful but lacking in purity. Werther also had a feeling that Intent Blood was about to rise to the rank of Supreme Grade Blade.
"Ace, I'm coming to save you."
With those words, Oars lost consciousness as Intent Blood frantically drained his blood.
"Oars! You bastard, what did you do to Oars?"
Ace glared from the Execution Platform, his eyes nearly blazing with fury. If he had not been restrained, he would already have rushed down to fight Werther.
