Werther and Tuski boarded the Werther-An-Tuski Wavebreaker and headed for the control room.
Just then, a voice called out behind them.
"You must be Werther. Now that you're here, my job is done."
Werther turned and saw a tall old man whose face was covered in wrinkles.
The old man had a striking appearance: a long face and a goatee.
"That's me. Thanks for watching the ship, sir. When Rayleigh gets back, please thank him for me."
The old man nodded, said nothing more, and walked away.
Werther watched him go. He could sense that the old man was no weakling.
Could he have been one of Roger's crew? The more Werther thought about it, the more likely it seemed. But it had nothing to do with him. All he wanted now was to take his ship back out to sea.
Only now did he realize how much he loved adventuring at sea. One Paramount War had been enough to make him miss it terribly.
Werther sent lightning through the ship to activate it, then entered the control room, started the engines, and left the dock.
After leaving the Sabaody Archipelago, Werther took the Eternal Pose for the Steel Furnace from his Pocket Watch and set a course for the island where Tie Yi lived.
He did not know whether Tie Yi had heard that he had killed Shiryu of the Rain, but he intended to deliver Shiryu's head to him. It was the payment Tie Yi was owed for forging Intent Blood.
Once the course was set, Werther left the control room for his Bedroom. Tuski, meanwhile, lounged in a deck chair, soaking up the sun. A glass of juice and several medical books sat on the table beside Tuski.
