Werther had expected this. He knew nothing about medicine, but after spending so much time around Tuski, he had picked up the basics.
Werther pressed down with his foot a few more times. Once he had forced most of the filthy water out of Buffalo, he took several clear test tubes from the Pocket Watch.
They contained a solution Tuski had invented. Werther intended to use it to clean Buffalo's lungs and stomach.
After a round of "treatment," Buffalo recovered somewhat. He was still weak all over, but he could stand, and the filth in his lungs had been washed away.
With Buffalo taken care of, Werther turned to the hotel owner. The three of them booked three rooms and decided to rest there for the night, then return to Dressrosa once the weather improved.
Werther changed into dry clothes and lay on the hotel bed. Bored, he took out the Pocket Watch and checked the time.
Six in the evening.
The downpour had left everything outside pitch-black, making Werther think it was much later. Knowing how early it was only made him more bored.
It was still pouring outside, so there was nowhere to go. As for sleeping with Monet?
What a joke. They had barely known each other. Why would Monet agree?
She had let him fondle her breasts earlier only because pirates weren't fussy about propriety. Anything more was out of the question.
Werther certainly didn't think he had some magical charm that made women fall for him.
Werther had slept with his share of women. The first was that beautiful woman from the jungle, who had done it to stay alive. The second was Kalifa, who had wanted to save her companions. The third was Sophia, who had an entirely different motive. Then there was Bonney,
