On a cold winter island somewhere in the New World, snow swept across the sea.

A steel base stood at the foot of a mountain, the only building on the snow-covered island.

Inside the base, a towering figure sat on the floor drinking.

"Lord Kaido, bad news! Jack was defeated in Dressrosa!"

A figure wearing an Iron Mask hurried up to Kaido, panting as he spoke.

Though he wore an Iron Mask, disbelief filled his eyes.

As a fellow member of the crew, he knew how strong Jack was. He had never imagined Jack could be beaten, much less by a newcomer.

"Hm?" Kaido set down his wine jar and stared at him.

"Jack was defeated? By whom? The Marines, or one of those two's subordinates?"

Kaido was not angry about Jack's defeat. If anything, he was excited. He had been bored.

"No, Lord Kaido. It was a newcomer."

Kaido's eyes flew wide, and he roared.

"Don't joke with me! One of those brats beat him? They're just playing pirates. How could they possibly defeat Jack?"

The masked man tensed under Kaido's hostile gaze. His boss's moods became wildly unstable when he drank.

"Lord Kaido, please hear me out. The man who defeated Jack isn't an ordinary newcomer."

Before the masked man could finish, a huge wine jar came flying at his face.

Crash!

The jar shattered. The masked man was sent flying and slammed hard into a steel wall.

"Quit spouting bullshit. A newcomer's a newcomer. What's this about ordinary or not?"

The muscles in Kaido's face twitched. He looked ready to explode.

"Listen, Lord Kaido. It was Thun—"

Before the masked man could say another word, a dark shape flew toward him.
