Lisa glanced out the window, puzzled.
"Werther, what's happening outside?"
Werther calmly kept eating. Chewing a piece of roast meat, he mumbled,
"Don't worry about it. There's no danger near us. Whatever's happening out there has little to do with us."
Werther had no intention of getting involved in the Island's troubles. He only needed to keep Lisa safe.
The commotion came from the edge of the Island, and Grace had been teaching violin at the Music Hall these past few days, so she wouldn't be in danger either.
"Oh, all right. But I can sense that presence again. It's in the sea now, and it seems really anxious. Should I go take a look?"
Werther gently pressed a hand to Lisa's head.
"No matter how curious you are, don't go looking if you sense danger."
Lisa sat back down reluctantly and resumed eating.
When Grace wasn't around, Werther was something of a guardian to Lisa. She usually acted like a little troublemaker, but when it came to important matters, she listened to him.
The two of them ignored the noise outside and continued eating. Then the door suddenly swung open, and Grace ran in, panting.
"This is bad! A giant Sea King is attacking the Island."
Grace had lost her usual composure. Anxiety filled her face, and she looked rather disheveled, as though she had fallen while running.
"It's fine. If it dares come ashore, it'll be tomorrow's main course."
Grace was frantic, but Werther remained calm.
"But—"
Grace stopped herself. The man before her wasn't like her husband, someone who would step in whenever trouble arose. This was Werther, the Thunder Swordsman.
It was enough that he wasn't killing anyone. How could she expect him to save people?
