"Mr. Werther, that concludes our deal. If the chance comes up, we can work together again."
With the deal done, Sabo and Koala visibly relaxed. Dealing with the Thunder Swordsman had put them under enormous pressure.
"Perhaps. Next time we meet, we might be enemies."
Werther gave Sabo and Koala a meaningful look, then ordered the Donquixote Family members under him to prepare to set sail.
Sabo paused and looked at Werther in confusion.
"Mr. Werther, what do you mean by that?"
Werther gave a soft laugh.
"Who knows? But let me warn you: stay out of matters that don't concern you. We've worked together a few times, but if we become enemies, I won't show mercy.
Set sail."
At Werther's command, the sailboat slowly pulled away from the dock.
"Sabo, what did Werther mean? Is he planning to go to war with us?"
Koala's face darkened. The thought of the terrible consequences of fighting Werther left her uneasy.
He was a monster who could fight Kaido. If she truly ended up on the opposite side from him...
"I don't know. For now, we just shouldn't provoke him. But if he does become our enemy, I won't fear him. Our mission is to change this world so ordinary people can live safely and happily, free from oppression by the World Government's nobles.
Come on. Let's take these weapons to our new headquarters. I've been to that island once. It's a nice place, though there are a few too many wild animals. We'll have to clear some out when we get there."
Koala smiled and nodded at the confident Sabo. She found him especially charming when he was like this.
"Okay, let's go."
