The Pirate's shout did nothing to stop Werther. Instead, he placed both hands on the Intent Blood swords at his waist.
Bang! A gunshot rang out, and the bullet flew toward Werther's head.
Werther tilted his head slightly. The bullet flew past his ear and vanished into the falling snow.

Intent Blood left its sheaths. Werther disappeared from where he stood and reappeared behind the two Pirates.
He did not even glance at them. Holding an Intent Blood sword in each hand, he kept walking.
After Werther had taken a few steps, the two Pirates were still standing there. Several thin lines of blood had appeared across their bodies.
Their bodies fell to the ground. Shock remained on both Pirates' faces, but neither was breathing.
A man sat inside a crude building.
He was tall and strongly built, but his pale skin gave him an effeminate look. The lipstick on his mouth and the gold earrings he wore only added to the impression.
The man lifted his coffee. Just as it reached his lips, his hand stopped.

His voice was thin and high-pitched, almost feminine. He was Lafitte, captain of the Blackbeard Pirates' fifth ship, known as the Devil Sheriff.
Lafitte sprang to his feet, put on his black top hat, picked up his cane, and headed for the door.
