The members of the Donquixote Family sat together in a Villa on the King's Plateau.
"Young Master, does this mean Werther won? No one will try to steal that gold now, right?" Sugar tilted her head toward Doffy.
Doffy was in a foul mood, nowhere near as cheerful as Sugar.
He had expected the war to drag on. Instead, it had ended almost as soon as Werther reached the battlefield. How was he supposed to sell his weapons now?
"Werther won," Doffy said grimly, adjusting his sunglasses. "But damn, that's frustrating. I thought I'd make a fortune off this war, and it was over in days. With guys like Werther and Kaido on the battlefield, how could it last? I miscalculated. The ships I sent out haven't even arrived yet."
As an arms dealer, Doffy was clearly unhappy to see a war end.
"Bahahaha! Young Master, you could have Sugar act cute and ask Werther for some gold. He likes her well enough! Bahahaha!"
Trebol burst out laughing, his long trail of snot swinging along with him.
"Drop dead, Trebol! I'm not going to act cute for him."
Sugar glared at Trebol and ignored him.
Buru, buru, buru.
A Den Den Mushi rang. Doffy looked over and saw that Werther was calling.
He picked it up, and Werther's voice came through.
"Doffy, I've got a money-making proposition for you. Interested?"
It was noisy around Werther. People seemed to be shouting in the background.
"Kaido, have you had too much to drink? Get your arm off my shoulders. Look at the size of you."
The noise grew louder. Doffy figured Werther, Kaido, and the others were drinking or holding a banquet.
"What kind of proposition? You've got my attention. Working with you has never cost me money."
