After landing, Kaido looked around. All he could see were broad stretches of beach and overgrown weeds.
"Kaido, don't let your guard down. Wano Country has formidable fighters. We need to be ready for a long battle."
Tillman was cautious. He was the Beasts Pirates' overall commander for this campaign.
Kaido could not command the Beasts Pirates once fighting began. He was far too prone to losing himself in battle.
"There's something I'm worried about. Maybe I'm worrying for nothing."
Werther looked at the pitch-black walls in the distance, and a strange thought occurred to him.
Those walls couldn't be made of the same black stone used for Poneglyphs, could they?
Wano Country's gate was crimson, too—the same color as a Road Poneglyph.
But that seemed unlikely. Stone like that had to be rare. Probably.
"Werther, what is it?" Tillman asked, looking at him in confusion.
Werther shook his head. He did not tell Tillman what he was thinking; it would be a blow to morale.
Even if he was right, he was confident he could cut through the wall.
"Move."
Jack shoved a subordinate aside. His body swelled rapidly, and in an instant he had become a mammoth with a yellow ponytail.
"Jack, wait."
Before Tillman could finish, Jack charged.
Jack's massive body was like a heavy tank at full throttle. Grass and trees flew in his wake, and the entire dock trembled under his charge.
"Here he comes. So that's Jack the Drought."
Kozuki Oden stood atop the wall, watching Jack approach without much concern.
"What a fool, charging straight at our gate."
"I can almost see Jack the Drought's skull bursting open."
