After shooting a member of the Beasts Pirates, Yasopp swung his rifle around and knocked back a Pirate trying to ambush him with its butt.
On a battlefield this crowded, a Sniper was almost useless unless he could fight from a distance.
Yasopp had already stopped shooting. Instead, he coated his rifle in Armament Haki and used it as a club.

Benn Beckman hesitated. This was a chance to severely weaken Werther's forces. If he broke through to join his captain now, they would be much safer, but the enemy would surround them completely.
