Werther fell, badly wounded, behind the Beasts Pirates' lines. Red-Haired did not pursue him.

Kaido and Tillman were fighting nearby. If Red-Haired charged in recklessly, he could be surrounded.

Benn Beckman and the other members of the Red Hair Pirates finally broke through at some cost and regrouped with the Samurai of Wano Country.

More than three thousand of them had landed on the island. By the time they regrouped with Wano Country's Samurai, just over twenty-five hundred remained. Most had died at Werther's hands.

Red-Haired hesitated, then decided to return to Wano Country's lines.

The battlefield in Wano Country was treacherous. Even as one of the Four Emperors, Red-Haired could die there if he charged in recklessly.

Werther and Kaido together were not opponents to take lightly.

Kaido's deathless body and Werther's razor-sharp swords made a perfect combination.

Charlotte Linlin had nearly fallen to the two of them before.

The Red Hair Pirates had suffered heavy losses, but compared with the Puppet Army's casualties, theirs were a drop in the bucket.

The Puppet Army had lost nearly ten thousand in this war.

After Red-Haired and Werther stopped fighting, the strongest combatants on both sides withdrew from the battlefield.

Those still fighting were Wano Country's Samurai and the badly depleted Puppet Army.

"How are you, Werther? Still alive?"

Queen had appeared near Werther at some point, looking as though she meant to take advantage of his weakened state.

"I won't die just yet."

Blood trickled from the corner of Werther's mouth. Much of his white coat was stained red.

His injuries were not too severe—only a few broken ribs. But what Werther considered "not too severe" was a rather loose standard.

As far as he was concerned, anything short of a mortal wound counted as a minor injury.
