Werther wove through the chaotic battlefield, slipping between flashing blades and flying bullets.
Bullets flew at him from time to time, but he knocked them aside with Intent Blood. He cut down everyone who stood in his way.
Powerful foes were closing in ahead, yet Werther felt not a ripple of unease. The more dangerous the fight, the calmer he became.
All three moved fast, especially Werther, who excelled at speed.
Boom!
Werther reached Red-Haired first. Sword met sword, and cracks spread across the ground beneath their feet.
"Hah!"
With a shout, Werther forced Red-Haired back with all his strength. Dragon was already charging in from the side.
"Storm!"
Dragon thrust his Wind Spear, sending a tornado toward Werther.
The blue-green tornado spun at high speed, sucking up stones and corpses from the battlefield. The wind shredded the bodies inside it, turning the tornado pale red.
Reeking of blood, it bore down on Werther as though it meant to tear him apart too.
Werther did not dodge at once. If he did, Red-Haired, whom he had just driven back, would attack again.
If Red-Haired tied him down, he risked being caught between the two of them.
"Shining Star!"
A Thunderball formed in Werther's hand. It was only the size of an egg and did not look particularly dangerous.
But Dragon and Red-Haired both grew wary. Neither dared lower his guard against Werther, so both fixed their eyes on the Thunderball, ready for anything.
Hummm.
The Thunderball floated into the air, then its surface flared with dazzling light.
Dragon and Red-Haired sensed trouble and instinctively turned their eyes away. They were too late.
Brilliant light poured from the Thunderball. Small as it was, it unleashed a flash far brighter than either of them had expected.
Blue-white radiance swallowed Dragon and Red-Haired.
