After several hours of sailing, Werther finally reached Enies Lobby Island using the coordinates the Marines had given him.
But the sight before him left him dumbfounded.
Warships had all but surrounded Enies Lobby Island.
One look told Werther that Sengoku's intelligence had led him astray.
The battle for Enies Lobby Island was nearly over. How was he supposed to stop it now? Even killing Luffy and his crew would accomplish nothing. Enies Lobby Island had already suffered extensive damage.
Werther's mood soured as he looked at the battered ruins of Justice Tower. He had promised Sengoku he would protect it, after all.
But with intelligence that bad, he can hardly blame me.
Werther walked slowly toward Enies Lobby Island. Fallen Marines lay everywhere, but strangely, none of them were dead. They had only been beaten unconscious.
"What a softhearted bunch. Should I teach them a lesson today? Kill one of their friends?" Werther chatted with Tuski about the vicious idea as they walked.
Tuski was surprised by the scene too. In Tuski's experience, shouldn't a battlefield be strewn with severed limbs? Why did it look as though nobody had died here? How strange.
Clearly, Werther had warped Tuski's view of the world.
Young Anita, meanwhile, watched it all with bright-eyed excitement. Having grown up in Mary Geoise, when had she ever seen a battle on this scale?
Fortunately, this was a battlefield Luffy and his crew had left behind. If Werther had fought here, the aftermath would have been a horrifying sight. It would certainly have scarred Anita, and given enough time, her outlook might have become as warped as Tuski's.
Just as Werther was about to reach Justice Tower, a group appeared in his path. Dressed in peculiar outfits, they were the Franky Family and the two Giants.
