The waves churned up by the warship kept slapping against the Coast, washing over the Sandy Beach again and again.
A hermit crab, disturbed from wherever it had been resting, was swept onto the Sandy Beach. It lay on its back, kicking its legs as it tried to flip itself over.
Standing on the slightly cool Sandy Beach, Loa rubbed his left foot against his right. Wet sand clung to his soles.
He stared at the crowd before him with dead eyes. "What are you all doing?"
A whole group of Marines stood in front of Loa, guns trained on him as though bracing for a fight.
Loa knew communication was difficult in the One Piece World, but news that he had become the seventeenth Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral should have spread across the seas by now.
So what were they doing? These privates hadn't saluted him on sight. Instead, they were pointing guns at him. Were they trying to mutiny?
Now that would be interesting!
"Don't move! What happened on the island?"
Loa had only shifted his foot, but the Marines tensed, fingers settling on their triggers as they barked the question.
If they hadn't all been bandaged, filthy, and looking so miserable, Loa would have taught them a lesson with a Roar already.
"Easy, easy. Careful those guns don't go off." Loa spread his hands to show he meant no harm.
"Where's your commanding officer? I want to see him."
"That's not up to you!" shouted a Marine who looked like their captain. He waved to the men beside him, and they brought out Seastone Handcuffs to arrest Loa.
Loa stared at them in disbelief. Apparently, his rank as Vice Admiral was less useful than his old recruit's shirt!
