Loa had no idea how long he had been flying. Still dizzy, he slammed into a weathered rock and ended up embedded in it.
Pain racked his entire body, but Loa held back a scream and forced himself to bring the Ice Spear to his mouth.
Crunch!
The crisp sound of chewing echoed across the Desert at midnight, enough to make anyone's skin crawl.
As he gnawed on the Ice Spear, Loa glared toward the battle between Kaido and the two Admirals. "Damn it! All this for a bite to eat. I really am risking my life!"
"Just you wait. I'm coming over to deal with you!"
The ice went down, and Dragon Body swiftly converted it into surging Magic Power. Loa activated Life Return, easing his displaced bones back into place one by one.
His entire skeleton crackled until, all at once, everything snapped into alignment!
Boom!
The massive rock exploded. Back in his Dragon Transformation, Loa clenched his fists, felt the immense Magic Power coursing through him, and smiled.
"Eat something, and the power comes rushing back!"
"So that cheesy line wasn't a lie after all!"
Loa was a little fussy about cleanliness. He could have eaten any of the ice scattered across the battlefield, but he couldn't bring himself to eat ice covered in dust.
Instead, he had tried to snag one of Aokiji's Ice Spears and ended up badly injured.
When my Magic Power runs out again, I'll just eat the ice on the battlefield, Loa thought.
Just as he was about to flap his wings and return to the fight, a figure rapidly grew larger in his field of vision. That thick black afro was impossible to miss.
Loa blinked and stared at the approaching figure in confusion.
"Is that Teacher Kuzan?"
Thud!
Aokiji crashed
