"Huh?"
Out on the distant sea, Loa gave a soft exclamation that caught Robin's attention.
"What happened? Did Ulysses lose?"
Surely not?
Ulysses was Loa's strongest officer, bar none. He had driven back the Blackbeard Pirates single-handedly!
Robin had read about Redfield's reputation, but Ulysses had the advantage from the start. He knew the Vampire Fruit inside and out, and his close-combat skills were second to none. There was no reason he should lose.
"No, it's far from over! I just heard something amusing."
Loa stroked his chin with a sly grin.
Redfield had said Garp looked like a lion-maned demon when he locked him up. Loa could suddenly picture what Garp must have looked like back then.
If he had to guess, that was Garp after mastering the Six Powers, in a state of Life Return.
No wonder the Pirates called Garp "the Demon." So there was a reason behind it.
"Always so mysterious..." Robin hated being kept in suspense. She rolled her eyes, snatched back the peeled grape, and popped it into her own mouth. Loa bit down without warning and nearly caught his tongue.
"Garp? One Piece? Looks like you still haven't faced reality!"
Down in the crater, Ulysses rose without a change in expression. He was dead. Unless an attack caused extensive physical damage, even smashing his head meant nothing to him.
Wisps of blood-red energy curled around his broken ribs. Holding his longsword in a reverse grip, Ulysses sneered. "This isn't the world you knew anymore. You've long since become obsolete, Redfield!"
"I don't need a lecture from an old man like you. If you're going to stand in my way, then let's fight!"
Red appeared before Ulysses. A blade sprang from the tip of his umbrella and stabbed toward Ulysses's head.
