In the conference hall, Sengoku listened to Fleet Admiral Aokiji's account and stroked his chin thoughtfully. The truth was so shocking that his first instinct was to reject it. But as Aokiji went on, he began to waver.
The Sengoku in that story really was him. Known as the "Wise Strategist," Sengoku knew himself well enough to recognize that much.
"Hmph! I don't care if she's Poseidon or anyone else. As long as I'm here, she won't harm a single blade of grass in this world!"
Garp sprang to his feet in fury. This world's Garp had neither lost his edge nor suffered a crushing defeat at Loa's hands. Standing there, he looked like an enraged lion—a real one.
His hair turned from white to black, and his crew cut grew into shoulder-length locks. A powerful updraft sent the tangled strands writhing through the air as though they were alive. With that savage expression, he looked like a demon!
"Calm down, Garp! She's Poseidon, one of the Ancient Weapons. You know what that means!"
Vice Admiral Tsuru frowned at him. Her shout brought Garp back to his senses, and he returned to normal and sat down. She then turned to Fleet Admiral Aokiji. "We need to investigate this thoroughly before we can give you an answer. Until then, I think—"
"Sorry, Miss Tsuru, but I think you're being too naive!"
Aokiji cut her off and continued gravely, "We really don't have much time. We haven't received reports of Poseidon turning the dead into Undead on a massive scale, but I estimate..."
He drew a deep breath. "This world has only a few days left before it's completely destroyed!"
Seeing Tsuru and Sengoku stunned into silence, Aokiji went on.
"And that investigation of yours
