Wuli stood firm, determination in his eyes. Across from him, Zephyr's face was grim, while Ain stood silently to one side. The sounds of battle seemed distant, and wisps of smoke drifted toward them on the wind.
"Uncle Zephyr, are you really going to do this? You know what a terrible disaster it'll cause if those Dyna Stones are detonated." Wuli looked at Zephyr, his expression conflicted.
Zephyr, once an Admiral, had been blinded by hatred. Step by step, he had walked into the deepest darkness and become Z.
"Of course I know. Isn't that the point of this war? To eradicate evil completely, some sacrifices are unavoidable. Once my goal is achieved, I'll bear all the hatred myself," Zephyr said in a low voice, his eyes filled with resolve.
Pirates and dreams. Destroy the pirates' dreams, and perhaps the pirates would disappear too.
No one had an answer. However much he imagined it, imagining was all it would be. He wanted to find the answer himself, no matter the cost!
"If this didn't drag ordinary people into it or threaten their lives and livelihoods, of course I wouldn't stop you. On the contrary, I'd do everything I could to help you achieve your goal."
"Hah, Wuli, stop dreaming." Zephyr suddenly gave a derisive laugh. "Everything in this world is tangled together. Good and evil are intertwined in the human heart. If it were really that simple, if such a choice existed, would it have fallen to me to make it?"
"Life isn't a fairy tale, and this cruel reality certainly isn't a fairy-tale world. It's because everyone hesitates that pirates have grown so rampant. If no one else will shoulder that sin, then I'll take the first step and cut through this mess!"
