From afar, ten Marine warships could be seen approaching in a semicircular formation. They were still some distance from the Town, though. The attack had not come from them!

Before long, another warship appeared from the East. What surprised Wuli was the emblem on its hull: the World Government's!

The sight of that warship answered Wuli's earlier question. So they were the ones who had initiated the Buster Call.

There was a precedent. The last Buster Call had also been initiated by Spandam, chief of the World Government intelligence agency CP9.

The warship's bombardment showed no sign of stopping. Anger and fear gripped the pirates. Their Pirate Ships had already been damaged—how were they supposed to escape the Marines now?

The pirates began to stir, madness gleaming in their eyes. If that was how things stood, they would seize the World Government ship attacking them!

"Looks like they've set their sights on our ship. They've got nerve," Kaku said with a faint smile.

"Ignore them. We've done enough as long as their ships can't sail away intact. Leave the rest to the Marines. We're withdrawing," Rob Lucci said after glancing at Wuli.

In the past, Lucci would have personally passed judgment on these pirates. Now, he no longer wasted much energy on such trivial matters.

The pirates brandished their weapons, ready to seize the World Government ship. To their dismay, once it had finished bombarding their Pirate Ships, it changed course and sailed away.

"The World Government ship got scared and ran! What do we do now?" a pirate shouted.

On the receding ship, Kaku stood on deck and seemed to hear the shout. He smiled. Scared? Hardly. We just can't be bothered.
