"Still want to fight?"
Ye Chen stopped too. Lucci glared at him. "Then we'll die together!"
"Lucci?"
Ye Chen was startled, but he gave him a thumbs-up. Lucci's stubborn courage in the face of death was worthy of respect.
When Lucci started toward him again, Ye Chen hurriedly raised a hand. "Wait, Lucci. Do you really work for the World Government?"
"Not yet. I haven't officially joined CP9." Lucci clenched his fists again.
"Hold on... I don't understand. Why are you so determined to kill me? Do we have a grudge? Or have I done something so terrible the whole world hates me?"
The waves had already soaked Ye Chen's feet, yet he kept talking and asking questions. Lucci was so furious he could barely stand it.
Even as he attacked, he answered, "You know what you've done. Don't play innocent with me. You deserve to die a hundred times for your crimes."
His fist whistled through the air and slammed into Ye Chen. But Ye Chen's right leg shot out just as fast and struck Lucci, sending him backward. About to lose his footing, Lucci barked, "Geppo!" and leaped into the sky.

They were stranded on the open sea, their ship sunk and survival seemingly hopeless. Lucci might as well take Ye Chen down with him.
That was Lucci. The words afraid of death simply weren't in his vocabulary.

After Ye Chen killed a Celestial Dragon, Marine Headquarters had no reason to let him go. If Lucci hadn't come, someone else would have.
