"Hmph, what a strange pirate! I'm not falling for that." Nami rolled her eyes and decided to ignore Ye Chen.
Ye Chen smiled. "But I'm a pirate. Are you really going to keep taking care of me? You'll hand me over to the Marines sooner or later, won't you? You could collect a hefty bounty. Wouldn't that be nice?"
"A bounty? Fifty million Beli?"
Nami was torn. She thought Ye Chen might be tricking her, but she couldn't resist the thought of that bounty.
Fifty million was no small sum. Besides, Nami figured they wouldn't have to steal or rob anyone for it. It was money they were entitled to.
After all, Bellemere had brought Ye Chen home. They had saved him, but they would have to hand him over to the Marines eventually.
Around noon, Bellemere hurried back with Nojiko. Before she even stepped inside, she heard someone talking. Her heart lurched, and she rushed through the door, afraid Nami was in danger. To her surprise, Nami was talking with Ye Chen.
The two were getting along wonderfully. Ye Chen kept telling Nami about the things he had seen and heard at sea. She hated pirates, but the vast ocean filled her with longing and excitement.
Most of the sea charts she drew came from scenes she had imagined. All she could see each day was the little stretch of water along Cocoyasi Village's shore, and she longed constantly to go out to sea and see more.
She had dreamed since childhood of drawing complete sea charts of every corner of the world with her own hands.
Looking closer, Ye Chen was delighted to find that Bellemere and her two daughters were all beautiful. Of course, he merely admired them; he had no improper thoughts.
