Kuro knew where to draw the line. He refused to take a single coin.
As for why Ye Chen had disguised himself as a guard and slipped aboard the Goa Royal House's passenger ship, Kuro had no interest in finding out. He knew those were things he was better off not knowing. The more he knew, the more danger he would be in.

Seeing that Kuro was determined to leave, Ye Chen stepped up beside him and lowered his voice. "I've wanted to meet you for a long time, Kuro of a Hundred Plans. I'd like to invite you to join my Grim Reaper Pirates."
Kuro's heart skipped a beat.
Ye Chen's gaze was clear and his expression earnest. He did not look as though he was joking in the slightest. Kuro shook his head. "Not interested!"
"Why not? Wouldn't you like to turn this world upside down with me?" Ye Chen asked with a smile.
"I'm tired."
Kuro shook his head. "We won't meet again!" With that, he turned to leave.

Ye Chen's right hand shot out like lightning. Kuro sprang back, but Lucci had already moved to block the Cargo Hold door.
Ye Chen moved like a phantom and struck like the wind. In a few quick steps, he caught Kuro's right hand. Kuro tried to break free, but Ye Chen tightened his grip and chopped the side of Kuro's neck with his left hand. Kuro staggered violently. Ye Chen's attack had caught him completely off guard.
Before he could fall, Kuro abruptly sped up. He had barely dashed a few steps when a dark figure flashed before him. A leopard's tail, hard as an iron whip, coiled around his waist.
