Under Smoker's astonished gaze, Ye Chen helped himself to a Cigar from his pocket and stuck it in his mouth as though they were old friends.
"You...?"
Smoker didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He ground his teeth in frustration. What kind of man was this? Instead of fleeing while he had the chance, Ye Chen had walked right up and taken a cigar from him. Smoker couldn't make sense of him at all.
But he didn't stop him. He knew his fate would be decided soon.
Smoker had never approved of the Celestial Dragons' behavior, but he wasn't a fool. He knew he would be made to take the blame this time.
"Hm?"
Ye Chen waited with the Cigar between his lips. When Smoker made no move, he shook his head in disappointment and grunted, "I don't have a light."
Smoker glared at him. After a moment's hesitation, he held out his lighter. Ye Chen didn't take it. He leaned forward with the Cigar still in his mouth.
"You..."
Smoker wanted to smash Ye Chen's head in with one punch, but he knew this man wouldn't be easy to deal with. Strawberry was dead, and neither Momonga nor Onigumo had managed to catch him. Smoker was only a Senior Chief Petty Officer—and Ye Chen had already beaten him once. This time, not only had he failed to catch Ye Chen, but Ye Chen had landed him in terrible trouble.
Smoker sighed and swallowed his resentment. He actually lit Ye Chen's cigar for him.
Ye Chen took a smug puff, looking thoroughly pleased. "Don't you think you're acting strangely?"
Smoker rolled his eyes and stared at Ye Chen as if he were an idiot. After a moment, he snorted. "Which one of us is acting strangely?"
Ye Chen smiled.
