Ye Chen snorted. "What an arrogant title. Well, I'm a god too!"
"What? Nonsense."
McKinley refused to believe him. Robin took a sip of coffee and smiled. "He's telling the truth. He's a god too—the Death God."
Zoro gripped the Kitetsu at his waist and grinned proudly. "If that's how it works, then I'm the Devil!"
"You people didn't listen to a word I said. Hmph. Let's see how long you can keep smiling. God will never allow anyone to defy his will. You'll be executed."
McKinley finished speaking, flicked his sleeve, and stormed off.
Conis had heard everything. Though Ye Chen had saved her and her father, Pai Ge, the thought of God's terrifying power left her trembling.
"Let me help you."
Ye Chen walked into the kitchen with a smile, startling Conis. She fumbled, and the cup in her hand slipped from her fingers.
Just before it hit the floor, Ye Chen bent sharply and caught it with a smooth Moon in the Sea. "Are you all right, Miss Conis?"
Conis hurriedly shook her head. "I'm so sorry. I was careless."
Ye Chen never used Mind Reading on women, but he could still sense that something was strange about Conis.
The reason was simple: if he used it, no beauty would stand much chance of escaping his grasp. Where was the fun in that?
If he had used it on Robin, for example, they would never have taken this long. They would have slept together ages ago. What fun would there be if he could know her every thought?

Conis was pretty and innocent, gentle and kind. She had pale blond hair, deep, captivating eyes like grapes, and fair, delicate
