When Ye Chen woke, he found himself lying on the Deck. The sky was a clear, washed blue, a gentle sea breeze brushed his ears, and gulls wheeled overhead.

Ye Chen was just about to sit up when an old woman with silvery-white hair suddenly appeared before him. Her face looked rougher than ancient tree bark.
Her sudden appearance gave him such a fright that he rolled across the Deck and scrambled away.
"Who are you?"
Ye Chen sat up from the Deck and stared in astonishment at an old woman nearby, much shorter than most people and round as a little dumpling.
"Brat, I saved your life, and this is how you treat me? Forget it. Since you saved the Gorgon Sisters, I'll let it slide. They call me Granny Nyon."
