Background / History

Di Xin was already one of the market’s three exclusive sellers of high-grade Gu insects when she met Long Xuan. Though trained as a formation master, she earned far more by serving as a Formation Raider: infiltrating Gu-cultivator lineages, cracking their protective formations, and stealing their treasures. She reportedly never targeted Rogue Cultivators. 29

Her cultivation is considered exceptional because she has a mortal body with neither an elemental attribute nor Gu-cultivation aptitude. By the time of the cave-dwelling expedition, she had reached the Marrow Cleansing Stage while concealing herself as a Peak Spirit-Gathering cultivator. 76

Her wealth and collection of rare resources stem from years of raiding. Her concealed Medicine Garden contains an immense variety of spirit herbs and is maintained beneath a formation that redirects intruders around it without their notice. 60 61

As her thefts expanded across regions, Di Xin became a target of major forces. Old Daoist Li later reported that she was fleeing east while continuing to grow stronger through looted resources. 217 A divination further predicted that she would eventually be hunted by tens of thousands of Gu Kings, yet would still become extraordinarily powerful. 276

Appearance

Di Xin is a beautiful woman who commonly wears a yellow dress and veil. Her usual appearance is difficult to rely on completely after she acquires the Face-Changing Gu. 29 60 261

  • Yellow dress and veil during her early appearances 29 60
  • Uses a stolen Golden Eye to inspect treasures, including pills 247
  • Can perfectly imitate another person’s appearance and aura through the Face-Changing Gu 261

Personality

Di Xin is bold, observant, and commercially ruthless. She quickly identifies Long Xuan’s hidden intentions, evaluates the value of formation materials from a glance, and consistently forces more favorable terms in their negotiations. 111 247 277

She is also intensely ambitious. Her willingness to raid powerful factions is driven not solely by greed, but by the knowledge that a mortal-bodied cultivator who cannot advance will eventually die at a low realm. 276 She accepts dangerous opportunities when they offer a genuine path forward, but does not confuse courage with recklessness; when facing the Cangyue Imperial Mausoleum, she agrees to let Gu Kings clear its dangers first. 483

Her relationship with Long Xuan is marked by mutual suspicion, teasing, and practical trust. She recognizes his tendency to exploit her wealth, while he regards her as both a valuable ally and an alarmingly capable rival. 247 277

Abilities & Skills

Formation Crafting and Formation Raiding

Di Xin is an exceptional formation specialist capable of infiltrating protected lineages, identifying a formation’s structure from its required materials, and creating solutions under pressure.

  • Forged a Formation Key to bypass an ancient formation during a cave-dwelling expedition 78
  • Concealed her vast Medicine Garden beneath an illusion formation that causes visitors to unconsciously avoid it 60
  • Correctly deduced that Long Xuan’s material list described a five-element Vicious Formation with self-sustaining and self-repairing barriers 111
  • Helped major clans penetrate the Empress’s Ancient Tomb and understood most of its tomb-protecting formation 111
  • Entered the Cangyue Imperial Mausoleum’s most dangerous tunnel alone to break its final formation 492
  • Claimed she could construct a formation capable of damaging or defeating the Black Dragon Pirate Group despite being only a Second-Grade Formation Master 269

Thousand-Armed Guanyin

Di Xin can manifest numerous arms behind herself and use them independently in battle and work.

  • Manifested arms that launched lightning, wind blades, and fireballs during the Green-Scaled Beast attack 252
  • Long Xuan inferred that the displayed arms were only a fraction of her capability and that she may ultimately manifest thousands or tens of thousands 252
  • Her multitude of arms lets her divide her attention across construction, crafting, and combat tasks 252

Face-Changing Gu

The Face-Changing Gu enables an exceptionally complete disguise.

  • Perfectly imitates another person’s appearance and aura, including the aura of a Peak Gu King 261
  • Explains how Di Xin deceived multiple Gu Kings into believing she was a Peak Gu King 261
  • Traded the Gu to Long Xuan in exchange for sixteen counterfeit professional badges 261
  • Threatened to impersonate Long Xuan and provoke powerful factions in his name 261

Bone Tempering Formula

Di Xin’s forbidden art transforms her own body into the foundation of a mobile formation.

  • Refines her bones into durable golden material 483
  • Requires countless miniature Formation Inscriptions to be carved into those bones 483
  • Her intended result is a mobile Peerless Vicious Formation carried within her body 483
  • Requires Long Xuan’s microscopic inscription technique, as ordinary formation masters cannot shrink the inscriptions sufficiently 483
  • The cultivation process is expected to be extremely painful and time-consuming 483

Treasure Acquisition and Resource Management

Di Xin’s wealth comes from unusually successful raiding, trading, and collecting.

  • Sells high-grade Gu insects and maintains a vast collection of Supreme-grade Spirit Insects 29 276
  • Possesses rare materials unavailable even through major markets, including Supreme-Grade Earth and Water Spirit Stones 110
  • Stole the Qian Clan’s Golden Eye and may possess other stolen clan techniques 247
  • Retrieved the most valuable treasure from the Nine-Deck Treasure Ship: the Ocean Heart 256
  • Used a false Fourth-Grade Formation Master identity to obtain Great Solitary Island’s entire stockpile of formation materials 269

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Hidden Grand Medicine Garden — an enormous herb garden concealed in plain sight beneath an illusion formation 60 61
  • Golden Eye — a stolen Qian Clan eye-type Gu used to inspect treasures 247
  • Face-Changing Gu — a disguise Gu capable of replicating appearance and aura 261
  • Thatch Gu — allows her to travel between distant locations after leaving the Boundary Pearl’s range 251
  • Endless Jade and Sky Island Ruins letter — information sources that led to her alliance with Long Xuan over the Repair Insect 250
  • Formation Disks — used to conceal herself from pursuing Gu Kings in the Cangyue Imperial Mausoleum 496

Relationships

  • Old Daoist Li — Fellow Rogue Cultivator who recruited her for the cave-dwelling expedition because of her reputation as a Formation Raider. 76
  • Wu Yaoyao — Divined Di Xin’s future, foreseeing her rise to immense power and pursuit by tens of thousands of Gu Kings. 276
  • Qin Mingyue — Co-trapped with Di Xin and Long Xuan in the isolated world created by the Cangyue tomb’s mechanism. 500
  • Divine Dragon Ship crew — Travels with the crew as a powerful and resourceful member whose true combat strength remains partly concealed. 247 252

Story Role / Major Arcs

Treasure Exchange Fair

Di Xin hosts the secret Treasure Exchange Fair for wealthy Spirit-Gathering Rogue Cultivators. There, she sells a Soundproof Formation Disk, trades the Twin-Tailed Flying Scorpion, and provides Long Xuan with formation texts that inspire his microscopic-inscription research. 29 30

She later exchanges Divine Ice Flame materials for all of Long Xuan’s Spirit Insects, demonstrating the scale of her resources and her demand for high-quality insects. 33

Medicine Garden Dealings

Long Xuan contacts Di Xin for living spirit herbs and visits her residence, becoming the first person known to seek her out at home. She reveals that the grassland surrounding her house is actually her hidden Medicine Garden. 60

She permits Long Xuan to select herbs, sells him spirit soil, and accepts nine bags of spirit-insect fossils in exchange for her remaining supply—unaware that Long Xuan had already removed the valuable contents. 61 62

Five-Element Reversal Grand Formation Negotiation

When Long Xuan seeks rare spirit stones and formation materials, Di Xin immediately recognizes that he is constructing an extremely powerful five-element Vicious Formation. She attempts to purchase its diagram, then exposes his theft of a valuable spirit tree and forces him to surrender two Fire Dragon Fruits as part of their exchange. 110 111

Divine Dragon Ship Voyage

Di Xin joins the Divine Dragon Ship and continues trading rare materials with Long Xuan. She helps secure the Three-Legged Golden Toad Gu materials, negotiates an alliance over the Repair Insect, and demonstrates formidable hidden combat power during the Green-Scaled Beast assault. 247 250 252

On Great Solitary Island, she impersonates a Fourth-Grade Formation Master to obtain defensive-formation resources, upgrades the ship, and prepares an escape route from the island. 269

Earth Spirit Fruit Operation

Unable to advance through ordinary pills, Di Xin agrees to gather materials for Long Xuan’s Heaven-Swallowing World Toad Gu Recipe in exchange for an Earth Spirit Pill formula and his personal help stealing the Teng Household’s Earth Spirit Fruit Tree. She refuses to let him send a clone in his place. 277

After Long Xuan obtains sufficient Earth Spirit Fruit, she agrees to fund the vast experiments required to develop the Earth Spirit Pill and Heaven-Defying Pill. 325

Cangyue Imperial Mausoleum

Years later, Di Xin reunites with Long Xuan to negotiate assistance with the Bone Tempering Formula. Together, they locate the Cangyue Imperial Mausoleum beneath their pavilion and decide to auction its location so Gu Kings can clear its dangers for them. 483

Inside the mausoleum, Di Xin breaks the final formation alone, later hides from pursuing Gu Kings using Formation Disks, and waits beside Long Xuan for a month while he recovers from using Twisted Jade. 492 496 497

She is ultimately transported with Long Xuan into a barren isolated world. Rather than panic, she agrees to cultivate in seclusion and supplies spirit herbs for his Heaven Spirit Pill research. 500

Trivia

  • Di Xin is afraid of cockroaches and therefore refused to buy Long Xuan’s Cockroach Gu. 29
  • Long Xuan repeatedly refers to her as a “rich woman” because of her extraordinary collection of spirit insects, herbs, and rare materials. 110 247 276
  • She has a personal rule against stealing from Rogue Cultivators, despite being infamous among Gu-cultivator lineages. 29 76
  • Long Xuan considers her survival against region-wide pursuit evidence that she possesses extraordinary fortune. 217
