Following the voice in his mind, Li Ziran looked up. All he could see of Jon had already become a blazing mass of multicolored flame, hues of every shade coursing through his body and forming clusters of dazzling light.
Those lights were like swords drawn from their sheaths, stabbing into the Wasteland and creating a strip of scorched, molten earth.
The soil flowed continuously, softening until it finally turned into crimson mud streams that poured into the lava lake at the center.

Heat waves constantly surged from the lake's surface. The waves crashed through the air, forming zigzagging cracks of flame. Like fierce serpents roaming at will, those cracks made the entire sky crackle and tremble.
The serpent-like edges formed a tyrannical rain of fire. Fireballs the size of fists fell from high above, bouncing against the ground with muffled pops.
The fire rain forced Li Ziran to retreat again. In less than half a quarter-hour, he had completely left Mading'er's territory.
