A cold snort laced with anger suggested that this woman had crossed paths with Nicole before.
Li Ziran had no time to care. That Teleportation Gate was growing larger and larger, and figures gradually appeared within it.
A woman in a pure blue mage robe stepped out first. The instant she appeared, the entire Wasteland seemed to fall completely still.
"Ribbit!"
Jon, who had been confronting Nicole, suddenly croaked. As if struck by a chill, he inexplicably took a step back.
Li Ziran could see nothing special about her. She looked like an utterly ordinary middle-aged woman, yet she calmly stood atop the spatial gate.
"Hehe, old lady, you beat me to it!" An aged voice, faintly teasing, drifted out. An old hand appeared on the frame of the spatial gate, gripping the threshold as though it took tremendous effort just to crawl out a little.
"Old man, hurry up." With a voice as crisp as a nightingale's, a delicate girl wearing a butterfly hairclip squeezed out first. Her loose blue mage robe did not fit her at all, but her little eyes were bright and lively.
After emerging from the Teleportation Gate, she looked around everywhere, seemingly admiring the scenery of the Wasteland. When she spotted Jon, her eyes immediately lit up as if they were glowing, and she giggled. "Big guy, you burned off my hair last time. You have to compensate me this time!"
The girl gave a light hop and left the Teleportation Gate. The instant she did, a Forbidden Wind Blade came slashing down through the air, smashing straight at Jon's head.
Bang!
Sparks flew in all directions.
Strangely, Jon did not resist, nor did he spare the girl even a glance. His two bulging eyes were fixed unblinkingly on the pitch-black Teleportation Gate.
Whoosh!
