Letter and Gift

Yin Ge could not be certain; she still needed to observe events to verify it.

The most crucial question now was who Killer would choose to erase tonight.

After thinking it over, she realized that the Godhead Laws of the others posed a greater threat to Beasthood than hers did.

Therefore, she was most likely safe tonight.

Only one day remained... Yin Ge carefully reviewed everything in her mind before slowly closing her eyes.

When she woke again, daylight was already bright.

As usual, after finishing his dorm inspection, the dorm manager was about to go practice tai chi. He had already reached the main entrance when the school bully suddenly swaggered toward the dormitory.

When he saw the dorm manager, the school bully did not even blink and continued inside.

"Wait." The dorm manager called after him. "It's class time. What are you doing here?"

With his hands in his pockets, the school bully frowned at the dorm manager. "Do you live by the sea? Why are you so damn nosy?"

With that, he lifted his foot to leave.

Yin Ge had sharp eyes. At a glance, she noticed a slight bulge in the school bully's pocket. There seemed to be a square object inside, something like a box.

"You're not allowed in!" The dorm manager looked stern as he grabbed the school bully's arm.

"You don't live in the dorms, so you're not allowed inside."

"Besides, you should be in class during class hours. If the principal finds out, you'll get scolded again!"

"I'm doing this for your own good. Why can't you appreciate it, kid?"

For some reason, the school bully's body trembled the instant he was grabbed. Then he roughly shook off the dorm manager's hand and shouted, "Don't touch me!"

The dorm manager jumped in fright.

"Don't forget how you got this job!" The school bully pointed at the dorm manager, his tone extremely impatient.

"It was one thing for you to follow me around all the time, but do you really think I'm some pushover? Who the hell do you think you are?"

"I'll go wherever I want. You can't control me, and neither can my dad!"

The school bully was extremely agitated, and the dorm manager was so frightened that he did not dare move.

But Yin Ge keenly noticed what seemed to be a bruise on the school bully's wrist.

Before she could get a better look, the school bully tugged down his sleeve to cover his wrist and walked straight into the dormitory building.

The school bully moved quickly, darting upstairs and disappearing in an instant.

Afraid that something might happen, the dorm manager checked the surveillance footage. When he saw the school bully enter a dorm room on the second floor, he hurried after him.

During the past two days of dorm inspections, Yin Ge had been observing carefully. She recognized at once that it was Zhang Zichen's dorm room.

But Zhang Zichen had gone home with his parents last night and had not returned yet.

Yin Ge felt faintly worried. Today was the last day. If Zhang Zichen never showed up, how was she supposed to find any clues?

Meanwhile, just as the dorm manager reached the middle of the hallway, the school bully came down from the second floor.

Perhaps because he had just been fiercely berated, the dorm manager did not dare provoke him again. He stood to one side and waited until the school bully had left before hurrying to Zhang Zichen's dorm room.

The school bully looked completely unconcerned. "Nobody told me to go. I went because I damn well wanted to!"

"Who are you calling 'your father'?" The principal was livid and slapped the school bully across the face.

"Do you know how many times I've cleaned up your messes? Can't you make me worry a little less?"

"How can there be such an irresponsible child as you? I feed you and house you. How have I ever wronged you?"

"Can't you just study properly? Your grades used to be so good. Don't you feel ashamed to have ended up like this? I'm embarrassed to even mention you when I'm out!"

Hearing this, the school bully sneered.

"Before? Were you ever satisfied with me before? As long as I didn't get full marks, as long as there was the slightest thing you didn't like, it was always my fault!"

Hearing the argument, the dorm manager quietly stepped outside.

The principal's voice came from behind him again. "If it isn't your fault, whose fault is it? Holding you to high standards and strict demands is for your own good. Don't be so ungrateful!"

"How many favors did I call in to get you into a key middle school? You didn't cherish the opportunity, and now you've turned out like this. Who else can you blame?"

"If no other school wanted you, why would I have kept you here in front of me just to be laughed at? Giving birth to you was worse than giving birth to that cripple—"

"Then don't be my dad!" The school bully still refused to back down. "Go recognize him as your son instead!"

The door shut completely, cutting off all sound.

The relationship between the principal and the school bully, father and son, was really terrible... Just as Yin Ge was thinking this, the door was abruptly pushed open.

The school bully walked out expressionlessly and returned to the classroom.

Seeing this, the dorm manager sighed. But instead of returning to the dormitory building, he stared intently toward the school gate.

Before long, two familiar figures appeared at the gate. Zhang Zichen's parents had arrived.

"The homeroom teacher already told me about it last night." The principal had regained his calm, with no trace of his earlier rage. "Since you've made up your minds, complete the procedures as soon as possible."

But soon, Zhang Zichen's mother began asking about the transfer procedures.

After learning the details, Zhang Zichen's father spoke. "Although my wife and I have decided on the transfer, Zhang Zichen hasn't completely made up his mind yet."
