Another Son of Heaven?

Everyone was shocked, but that shock quickly turned into confusion.

The bride's father grew a little excited. "Since their identities overlap, doesn't that mean the killer is one of them? The rest of us don't need to verify our godheads, right?"

"No, I'm not the killer!"

The groom and the bride's mother spoke in unison, then glared at each other with hatred.

Everyone's attention was on the two of them. Only the child's mouth fell slightly open, his face twisted with conflict. In the end, he couldn't help tugging on Yin Ge's hem.

Feeling the child's movement, Yin Ge lowered her head in confusion. Just as he was about to speak, the groom's furious voice cut him off.

"You bitch, I'm the [Son of Heaven]! I knew I was right—you're the killer!" The groom stepped forward excitedly, then cursed loudly.

"I knew women were all no good! I was the one who revealed information about the [Son of Heaven] godhead first. What gives you the right to steal it from me?"

"Hmph!" The bride's mother snorted. "How do I know why you know so much about the [Son of Heaven] godhead? Maybe you've played this game before or learned about it, and you were only pretending not to know."

The bride's father nodded. "That's certainly possible. The order doesn't prove anything."

Most people agreed with that.

Seeing this, the groom refused to accept it and argued more and more fiercely with the bride's mother.

"Wait!" The best man stepped between them. "Both of you, stop. Forget who the Son of Heaven is for now. Tell us why you used Discernment on each other."

"Only then can we figure out which of you is the real Son of Heaven."

"A reason? What reason do I need?" The groom's face stiffened. "That woman nags all day long and keeps trying to make us go along with her and protect her. Who does she think she is?"

"And she's always attacking me and slandering me. I thought she was the killer, so I checked her."

That reasoning was weak and filled entirely with emotion.

Yin Ge frowned deeply and looked at the bride's mother. "What about you? Why did you use Discernment on the groom?"

The bride's mother lifted her chin. "He's always being nasty to me, and he was closest to the bride, so I used Discernment on him."

After only a few words, she sneered. "Heh, I didn't expect to get it right on the first try. He—he really is the killer!"

After saying that, the two stared each other down as if they wanted to devour one another alive.

Clearly, their reasons for using Discernment on each other were exactly the same—they couldn't stand each other.

When they had first entered the game, no one had understood the situation. At a time like that, their attention would naturally fall on people who had left a deeper impression.

That kind of motive for using Discernment couldn't exactly be called wrong...

The situation was extremely tricky. For the moment, no one could make up their mind, and they simply couldn't tell who was the Son of Heaven.

The best man thought for a moment before speaking. "Both of you are suspicious."

"Since we can't tell from the godheads who is the Son of Heaven and who is the killer, we'll have to return to the events we discussed earlier."

At those words, the groom's body trembled involuntarily. "Y-you're targeting me, aren't you?"

"Everyone knows I'm the only one who had intimate contact with the bride. I'm more wronged than Dou E!"

"Who's targeting you?" The bride's mother relaxed considerably. "Whether we're looking at the godheads or analyzing the events, you're obviously the most suspicious one."

"You got cheated on and couldn't swallow your anger, so you attacked the bride."

"The bride may have cheated, but she didn't deserve to die. Why did you harm her?"

Those words made the groom even angrier. "Bullshit! I didn't kill her! I'm not the killer!"

The bride's father quickly said, "But you had a huge fight with the bride. You really did have a motive."

"It's true that she cheated, but I'm really not the killer!" The groom was going mad. "I have the godhead! I'm the real Son of Heaven!"

"It wasn't me, it really wasn't me! You've all been fooled by that bitch!"

The groom was extremely agitated.

Everyone looked at one another in uncertainty, with no idea what they should do now.

Yin Ge frowned slightly and looked at the bride's mother. "We all know what happened with the groom. What about you? What did you do while your body was under control?"

The bride's mother bit her lip tightly, unwilling to answer. "The facts are right in front of you. I was with all of you the whole time. Can't you see what I did? Why do you still need to ask?"

"I can see it now. You just don't like me, so you've been targeting me this whole time and trying to get me killed."

Yin Ge's head throbbed. She had no idea what this woman was thinking. Her tone turned stern.

"Can you be normal? This is a matter of life and death. I don't have time to target you. I just want to stay alive."

"Several of us were with the groom and bride the entire time, but you went into a room for a while."

The best man spoke sternly as well. "If you want to clear yourself of suspicion, you'd better recount everything you said and did. We'll judge who looks more like the killer based on your words."

The bride's mother's eyes instantly reddened, as though she had suffered some tremendous grievance. "I didn't do anything. I was with the bride's father and that child the whole time."

"You all know about the daytime. After eating, I went into the room for a nap. At night, I got up again to cook. Nothing special happened in between."

Hearing that, everyone looked at the bride's father.

The bride's father looked slightly uncomfortable, but he still nodded. "Nothing special did happen."

Yin Ge turned her head toward the child.

The child had been with the bride's father and mother the whole time. If anything unusual had happened, he should have noticed it too.

Under everyone's gaze, the child scratched his head, looking conflicted. "She—she really was with me the whole time. Nothing seemed unusual."

Hearing that, the bride's mother raised her head, looking completely at ease.

"Impossible!" the groom shouted. "You're lying!"

Seeing this, the child hesitated, then grabbed Yin Ge's hand. "B-but, I'm not sure either, sis. Actually, actually..."

Seeing the child stammer, the groom thought he had discovered something wrong with the bride's mother. He immediately stepped forward, pressed down on the child's shoulders, and asked,

"What aren't you sure about? Hurry up and say it. Is there something wrong with that bitch?"

"She's the killer, right? That's why she stole my identity."

The groom shook the child's shoulders hard. "Don't be afraid. Tell everyone everything. Once you do, they'll know that bitch is the real killer."

The child's mouth quivered, and tears immediately welled up in his eyes. "It hurts, it hurts."

The best man frowned, pulling the child behind him as he harshly rebuked the groom. "If you want to talk, then talk. Don't lay your hands on people and scare them."

"How am I scaring him?" The groom flew into a rage. "Get the hell out of my way!"

The best man did not move, nor did he pay any attention to the groom.

Yin Ge turned to the child and spoke gently. "Don't be afraid. What were you trying to say just now? Go on."

The child glanced fearfully at the groom, then timidly said, "I-I was trying to say..."

"I'm the Son of Heaven."
