Asuma completed Sage Transformation, expanded Konoha’s reach, and formed the Tenshin Group to manipulate the great villages and gather Kekkei Genkai. The group’s staged attacks drew Uchiha Fugaku into the Land of Earth and provoked Iwa and Cloud to pursue them.

• Asuma persuaded Nagato to join his plan for unifying the ninja world, protected him with a Divine Dragon Mark, and took control of Summoning Island’s research base.
• Asuma helped Konoha establish routes and settlements across the South Sage Continent, while Kurenai, Shizune, and Kakashi’s teams secured influence in the Land of Origins and defeated the escaped Demon Wolf.
• Asuma completed his Uchiha gene analysis and Sage Transformation, then created the Tenshin Group from six Clones and planned staged attacks to mislead the great villages.
• Uchiha Shisui brought Uchiha Itachi, Kurama Tenshi, and Sarutobi Sanki to the South Sage Continent, where they helped stop a samurai coup in Tenbara City.
• Clone Tsuchigami attacked Uchiha Kōta’s squad at the Land of Iron border and took Kōta’s Sharingan as part of Asuma’s plan.

Asuma built his family and trained Konoha’s young ninja while the Akatsuki began capturing the Tailed Beasts and Orochimaru launched an attack during the Chunin Exams. The One-Tail was captured, Sasori and the Sound Four were defeated, but Kimimaro escaped with Sasuke.

• Asuma and Tsunade welcomed Little Nawaki, and Asuma later helped Yūhi Kurenai understand her Dream Eye and trained Sai, Shizune, and other young ninja.
• Asuma prepared Naruto, Karin, and their peers for the Chunin Exams, then challenged Naruto and Karin and declared Naruto the winner of their match.
• Asuma confronted Kurama inside Naruto’s seal and pushed him to cooperate, while Akatsuki prepared to capture the One-Tail.

• Asuma pursued Rōshi and secretly took the Yin half of the Four-Tails, then began studying the beast with Senju Tobirama.
• Senju Hashirama helped rescue miners with Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, Haruno Sakura, and Jiraiya, while Naruto mastered a Storm Release: Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken with Kurama’s help.
• Kakashi took control of the daimyo’s security, while Asuma and Tsunade advanced artificial organ and limb transplants and tested Uka’s timeline-rewinding Rinnegan ability.

Asuma led the Allied Shinobi Forces against Madara and Kaguya, ultimately absorbing the Ten-Tails’ power and freeing those trapped by the Infinite Tsukuyomi. After learning that Ōtsutsuki Isshiki had attacked Konoha, Asuma prepared to confront him.

• Uka and Deidara captured Killer B, while Namikaze Minato revealed Akatsuki’s threat at the Five Kage Summit and Uchiha Obito declared war after the leaders rejected the Moon Eye Plan.
• Sarutobi Asuma defeated Nagato’s Six Paths of Pain and confronted Uchiha Madara, whose attack on Konoha was repelled by Asuma and the village’s defenders.
• The Five Kage formed the Allied Shinobi Forces, and Asuma supported the divisions with powerful clones as they battled White Zetsu and Orochimaru’s reanimated shinobi.
• Asuma revealed that he had preserved the other Jinchuriki and sent the Allied Shinobi Forces to face Madara, who revived the Ten-Tails and attacked with its power.
