Background / History

Chaos is the awakened consciousness of a Middle Thousand World that exists directly within the surrounding Chaos. Dao Xuan deduces that the world originated from a fragment of the Space Demon God Yang Mei’s Chaos Demon God body: a piece of Chaotic Void that developed consciousness and ultimately became a world with its own Heavenly Dao. 62

Because Chaos is inseparable from his world, entering the world would mean entering the domain of its strongest being. Dao Xuan instead attacks from outside, identifying Chaos’s inability to move with the world as a strategic weakness. 62

When Dao Xuan breaches the world’s defenses, Chaos manifests as a gigantic illusory face and orders him to leave. His name allows Dao Xuan to identify the realm as a primordial Greek Mythology World, whose known inhabitants include Gaia, Tartarus, Erebus, Nyx, and Eros. 63

After Dao Xuan destroys the Void Torrent, which contains part of Chaos’s origin, Chaos suffers backlash and recognizes that reconciliation is impossible. He sends his five primordial deities to stop Dao Xuan’s Four Divine Beasts, then expends Heavenly Dao origin to reinforce the surviving defenders and arm them with powerful treasures. 63 64

Conflict with Dao Xuan

Chaos opposes Dao Xuan after the latter discovers his world in the Chaos and attacks its Heaven and Earth Fetal Membrane from outside. Chaos initially relies on spatial storms, a void vortex, and the Void Torrent to repel him. 62 63

Dao Xuan’s Inner World projection freezes and destroys the Void Torrent, injuring Chaos by annihilating the origin invested in it. Chaos then orders his five primordial deities to defend the world against the Four Symbols Grand Formation. 63 64

Defense of the Greek Mythology World

Chaos matches each of Dao Xuan’s Four Divine Beasts with primordial deities, assigning Gaia to Azure Dragon, Tartarus to Vermilion Bird, Erebus to White Tiger, and Nyx and Eros to Black Tortoise. After Eros is swallowed and the other battles fail to secure an advantage, Chaos spends substantial Heavenly Dao origin to escalate the defense. 64
