"It's been following me all this way, and finally it's deigned to show itself."
Liu Zheng raised an eyebrow.
"This is our duty."
The hunter captain replied calmly.
"Does your duty also include preventing residents from returning home?"
He said.
"First, you are not a resident of Yate. Second, the person you knocked unconscious was a hunter. Although he is not Church hunter, we still have an obligation to help him."
"That's what the hunter captain said."
"Where were you all when he was going crazy? And this little girl is his daughter. Fula, do you want me to help your father, or these guys?"
Liu Zheng tilted his head and asked.
"Of course, it's Mr. Liu Zheng."
Fula replied crisply.
"You see, she doesn't need your help."
He extended his tentacles toward the hunter captain.
"She's just a child; she doesn't have the ability to distinguish right from wrong."
The hunter captain shook his head.
"You talk like you're some kind of adult. Just say it, what do you want? I'm busy, and if you keep wasting my time like this, don't blame me for being impolite."
Liu Zheng said in a loud and boisterous manner.
Awesome!
Xia Kai gave him a thumbs up from behind.
As expected of a big shot, he dares to be so arrogant in front of a whole squad of fully armed hunters.
In comparison, his act of hiding in the graveyard to survive the dungeon was incredibly despicable.
Of course, despite his envy, he'll likely continue to play it safe next time.
If you don't have the life of a big shot, don't try to have their problems.
"We want to know, how did you cure his Beastification Disease?"
After a moment of silence, the hunter captain spoke.
In fact, he was using all his strength to keep from showing a shocked expression.
Although the mobile squad kept a distance to avoid being discovered by Liu Zheng, the hunters' excellent eyesight allowed them to witness Father John being freed from his Beastification.
Of course, they didn't see clearly how Liu Zheng did it; they only saw him put his hand into Father John's mouth.
"I didn't cure his Beastification Disease; I only temporarily relieved his Beastification state."
Liu Zheng shook his head.
"This is already quite surprising."
The hunter captain said solemnly.
As Church hunters, they naturally knew some of the inside story of the Beastification Disease.
Beastification is irreversible; even high-level " Blood Therapy " can only slow down the process.
The fact that the other party could turn the Beastification hunters back into normal humans was a discovery comparable to the Church's discovery of the secret of " Blood Therapy."
"I'll tell you the method, what can you give me in return?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Wealth, knowledge, Blood Therapy —we can provide all of these."
The hunter captain replied immediately.
As Beethoven's direct subordinate force, the " Holy Sword " hunters naturally wouldn't lack these things.
I don't need any of these.
He shook his head.
It's hard to say how much Yate's property would fetch in the Metropolis.
As for knowledge, although the memory shield of the Metropolis is ineffective against him, he cannot openly use or sell the knowledge of Yate.
The idea of Blood Therapy was even more absurd; his blood was rejected by Father John, who was infected with the Beastification Disease, and vice versa.
If Liu Zheng really dares to undergo Blood Therapy, a massive hemorrhage would be the least of his worries.
If the bloodlines are forcibly fused and mutated under the system's influence, that would be truly heartbreaking.
"Then please just say what you need. Within the territory of Yate, the Church can provide a great deal of assistance."
The hunter captain immediately spoke.
"Is that so? Then I need a large number of high-quality Blood Gem."
Liu Zheng thought for a moment and then said.
"No problem."
As a hunter directly under the Church's chief hunter Beethoven, " Holy Sword " has no shortage of Blood Gem.
After all, they frequently had to enter the Tomel Ruins and fight those powerful monsters inside.
"So straightforward? Then I still need Tomel's Holy Grail and the God's Child's Umbilical Cord."
He pushed his luck.
" The Holy Grail? The umbilical cord?"
The hunter captain looked puzzled.
Has any of you heard of it?
He turned to his subordinates and asked, but the hunters all shook their heads.
"We haven't heard what you're saying, but we can pass your request on to our superiors."
"That's what the hunter captain said."
"No need, your superiors have already arrived."
Liu Zheng looked past them and into the distance.
A man carrying a greatsword is walking towards this side.
He had long, curly golden hair that shimmered faintly in the darkness, like the legendary Golden Fleece.
His features are as deeply sculpted as if they were carved. Although the years have left their mark, they have not diminished his handsomeness in the slightest. Instead, they have added a touch of gentleness to his seriousness.
The man walked forward at a leisurely pace, and although he was walking alone, he exuded the aura of a cavalry charge.
" Beethoven, the master!"
The hunter captain exclaimed in surprise.
The next second, the hunters automatically separated and stood at attention on both sides of the road, like soldiers waiting for their general's inspection.
"Mr. Liu Zheng, you need to be careful."
Anke whispered a reminder to Liu Zheng.
"What? Is he famous?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"That's right, he is Beethoven, the chief hunter of the Bloodhealing Church, and probably the most powerful hunter in history."
Anke said.
"The strongest hunter."
He looked at Beethoven and indeed felt a powerful aura emanating from him.
The greatsword behind the opponent, in particular, gave him a very dangerous feeling.
"That's certainly worth a fight."
Liu Zheng stretched his tentacles and said.
The enemies I encountered after entering Yate were all too weak, or they were like Father John, whom I couldn't easily kill.
If he could fight the Church's chief hunter, he would be able to determine his own level of strength.
Just as Liu Zheng was pondering this, Beethoven walked over.
"You've worked hard on the patrol, knights."
He spoke first to the hunters.
Calling his hunters knights was a personal habit of Beethoven, the " Holy Sword ".
Because he always held himself to the standards of ancient knights and heroes, and he applied the same standards to the " Holy Sword " hunters he personally trained.
"It's my duty."
The hunters answered in unison, their expressions excited.
Many of the " Holy Sword " hunters are natives of Yate, and their feelings towards the Bloodhealing Church and the hunters are actually quite complex.
What attracted them to join the Church hunters was Beethoven's own personal charisma.
"I've heard about what happened to you, stranger. At this critical time, I do not condone your actions of disturbing the peace of the residents."
Beethoven looked at Liu Zheng and said.
"Are you sure the residents can truly live in peace in a place teeming with wild beasts, where even those around you could turn into Beastification at any moment?"
He pursed his lips.
The " Holy Sword " hunters were furious. How dare this outsider be so disrespectful to the great Beethoven!
"This is our mistake, but it's not a reason for you to trespass."
Beethoven wasn't angry; he simply refuted him calmly.
"Indeed, but there's nothing I can do. You have your responsibilities, and I have my job."
Liu Zheng shrugged.
What is your job?
"Help the Restaurant purchase supplies."
"Have you finished shopping?"
Beethoven asked.
"I've finished part of it; the rest are a bit hard to find."
He said.
"Perhaps we can help you. High Priestess Amelia asked me to invite you to the Church; she wants to speak with you in person."
Beethoven said.
" Beethoven, the master."
The hunter captain suddenly walked up behind him and whispered in his ear.
"What?!"
A rare look of shock appeared on Beethoven's usually composed face.
"Can you cure the Beastification Disease?"
He stared intently at Liu Zheng, the greatsword behind him gleaming brightly as he felt the surge of emotion within him.
