Background / History

Liu Zheng was selected for the Hell Game after completing a survey while terminally ill with ALS. Before the instance began, he signed a Betting Agreement: his wish for health and longevity would replace normal clearance rewards, but he would be erased if he cleared an instance below A-rank before fulfilling it. He entered the solo Beginner Trial, Bloodstained Restaurant, with the objective of surviving seventy-two hours. 1

At Bloodstained Restaurant, Liu Zheng was assigned as a deliveryman by Si Xue. Cow-Horse became his senior coworker and trainer, initially treating him as expendable. Liu Zheng secured his usefulness by relieving Cow-Horse’s chronic spinal pain with bone-setting massage techniques, establishing the transactional partnership that would sustain him through the trial. 1 2

His first deliveries forced him to learn that information, food, body parts, and favors all function as currency in the city. He bargained with Dai Lego, offered his own flesh to obtain directions, and fought security guards when negotiation failed. 6 9 10

After being offered the remains of his delivery meal by Mr. Li, Liu Zheng consumed Supreme Black Goat Kid Eye Sashimi. The meal healed him but caused extensive mutation, giving him tentacles, additional eyes, enhanced physical attributes, and Flesh Rebirth. 10 12

Appearance

Liu Zheng began the trial as a terminally ill human, but Flesh Mutation progressively reshaped him into a visibly inhuman figure. He conceals much of his transformed body beneath a cloak-like delivery uniform designed to accommodate his tentacles. 1 12 13

Liu Zheng is observant, sarcastic, and highly adaptive. He usually assesses rules, incentives, and the other party’s weaknesses before acting; he made himself indispensable to Cow-Horse through massage, exploited delivery protections, and routinely turns dangerous negotiations into trades. 2 6 19

He is willing to use violence when he judges it necessary. Under supernatural pressure, his suppressed anger can become extreme brutality, especially against those who attempt to exploit or intimidate him.
