Xia Lun lightly tapped out the final character, then lifted both hands from the keyboard.
The next instant, the Typewriter's roller spun rapidly, drawing the paper above it down. Then something incredible happened!
Without warning, the characters on the script vanished. The tiny, glowing blue octopus, the Wheel of Moxie, screamed as it was sucked toward the Typewriter. Its tentacles danced uncontrollably across the keyboard, and new characters soon appeared on the script.
[In the Sea Abyss stood a Golden Gate. Beyond the gate lay Dreamland...]
Xia Lun raised his eyebrows slightly, a sense of accomplishment welling up inside him. Circular Narrative really worked!
The Typewriter could not directly write concepts such as "forever," but it could incorporate them into the script's structure through a loop format similar to a "while...if..." loop in programming!
"I can't control my body!" The miniature Wheel of Moxie sprawled over the Typewriter, screaming, "You abomination! What have you done to me?!"
[In Dreamland stood a small pavilion. Inside the pavilion, Roman, Manhunter, Carson, Aislin, the Attendant, and the Wheel of Moxie were writing a story on a Typewriter. What were they writing?-]
"As long as the Typewriter's script keeps looping, the story can continue forever, and the people it created won't disappear." Xia Lun spread his hands as he explained. "You'll take shifts, twelve hours each. With six of you, on average, your turn will come around every three days or so,
which gives you plenty of time to rest and do other things."
"Why do I have to go first?" the Wheel of Moxie protested indignantly.
"You're a prisoner and emergency rations. Know your place." Xia Lun smiled at the eyeball in the center of the Wheel of Moxie's body. "If you're unhappy about it, I could stew
