The girl in the school uniform had intended to use Emolga's high-speed ranged attacks to kite Larvitar to death.

She hadn't expected Larvitar's "speed" to be far greater than she had anticipated.

Whether it was its move chaining or reaction speed, it was nowhere near as clumsy as she had thought. And now, with the speed boost from Dragon Dance...

"Agility! Pull away! Don't let it get close!"

The schoolgirl shouted. This was her first time battling a Pokémon like Larvitar, and it didn't feel anywhere near as simple as fighting a same-type Rhyhorn.

However, judging by the moves it used, Larvitar was a physical attacker, which gave her an advantage.

Emolga's body swayed at extreme speed. An orange flash passed by, its wing membranes spread as it rode the wind into the air, circling Larvitar below at incredible speed and leaving behind a streamer that pierced the air!

"That speed boost was pretty fast?"

Heiduo looked surprised.

Stat boosts were a gradual process. Normally, they only fully took effect after the orange glow appeared.

Yet it had taken Emolga no more than three seconds to go from using Agility to fully increasing its speed.

That was exceptionally fast.

Speed meant the right to act first. At Emolga's current speed, unless Larvitar used Dragon Dance again, it could only counterattack!

"Hidden Power!"

It was still Ice Hidden Power. After the light flashed, a bone-chilling current surged toward Larvitar below. Larvitar's response was equally decisive: it smashed its little fist into the ground, creating a thick stone spike that shot straight toward Emolga in the sky!

Stone Edge!

Bang!

Hidden Power collided with Stone Edge, but the shockwave was no match for the stone spike. It only blew away the sharp tip before dissipating, while the spike continued charging toward Emolga
