Coumarine City, Coumarine Hotel.

Early morning.

Heiduo yawned as he pulled open the curtains. The first rays of dawn streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, bathing the bed and room in light.

Warm and golden.

Having returned to Coumarine City the day before the Coumarine City Youth Battle Tournament, Heiduo had rented a room at this rather famous seaside hotel.

It had to be said that its accommodations were more than ten times better than the free Pokémon Center.

When he got up in the morning, not only could he watch the rising sun, but the breeze that blew in through the open window was not cold wind, but warm, damp sea air.

It was incredibly comfortable.

Today was the first day of the Coumarine City Youth Battle Tournament. It was being held using the Trainer Academy's grounds, as well as the newly built Coumarine Hall.

Speaking of Coumarine Hall, one had to mention Pokémon Showcases. Mention Pokémon Showcases, and one would think of Pokémon Performers. Think of Performers, and then there was poor Serena—Ash was so oblivious! Ahem, ahem...

As far as Heiduo knew, the profession of Pokémon Performer did not yet exist in Kalos. There were only actors.

This meant that Pokémon Performers would only become an official profession like Coordinators in the next ten years or even later.

For now, no such profession existed.

"Today's the tournament?" Umbreon on the bed yawned and stretched her limbs.

Heiduo nodded. There were more participants in this city-level tournament than he had expected, but the format was much simpler.

The event would last two days. According to the schedule arranged by the organizers, Heiduo would need to fight four rounds on the first day and two on the second.

Six rounds in total. Whoever won them all
