The challengers were four men and one woman. One had four Badges, one had five, and the others all had seven. They were all Johto locals—not a single Trainer from another region. That was rare.
And there was even a woman willing to be a traditional Trainer these days... She was not some academy student who had failed out and come to challenge the Gym. She was a genuine traditional Trainer.
Heiduo looked over the documents in his hands. There was not much information recorded: photographs, age, gender, school enrollment, Gym Challenge details, and so on. Nothing related to personal privacy was included.
The girl's school enrollment section clearly read: Wakaba First High School.
It was an ordinary academic school.
A high school diploma?
In a world where Trainers generally had low levels of education, it was truly unbelievable for a traditional Trainer to possess a high school diploma.
Her file showed that she had registered for her Trainer Card eight years ago. She was nineteen this year.
Had she become a Trainer after graduating elementary school?
Why had she not attended Trainer School? Eleven was the appropriate age...
There was probably some hidden reason.
But a Gym Challenge was not a reality show. A tragic backstory would not earn her extra points.
Eight years as a Trainer, with the strength of seven Badges... Hopefully, she had not earned them through other people's pity. That was probably impossible. Gym Leader Chuck, for one, would never hand out a Badge just because he pitied someone.
"Why have you been staring at some girl's profile for so long? Hmm? Has that rock head of yours finally opened up?" Umbreon looked at Heiduo teasingly.
Heiduo ignored it and began considering which Pokémon to send out.
