Heiduo had a great time at the Battle Frontier, including the final all-out battle between the Pokédex Holders.
As an unofficial participant, Heiduo had joined in too, and in the very first round, he faced Red, who should have had a bye.
Neither of them fought seriously. Heiduo had simply left Garchomp and the others out of it, using the newly raised Goodra and Hidden Ability Greninja instead. The former was decent enough, barely reaching level fifty-five.
The latter had only just passed level forty.
As expected, Red, using Espeon and Snorlax, utterly crushed him.
—"Just as planned."
According to the bracket, if Heiduo defeated Red, he would have had to face Blue.
Battling her in public was no good. If he lost, Blue would think he was going easy on her. She might not get angry, but she would absolutely use it against him and mock him.
Winning was no good either. His future father- and mother-in-law were watching from the stands, so showing some restraint was definitely the right choice.
No matter how Heiduo thought about it, this was a fatal question.
So naturally, he lost to Red in the end.
Of course, if Goodra and Hidden Ability Greninja's Rain combination had possessed a higher Energy Level, they could have fought.
Unfortunately, their levels were too low. Even with their extra attributes, the gap between them and Red's main team was still far too wide. Still, losing to a Champion was nothing embarrassing.
Heiduo did not care much about how the world judged him.
Heiduo also took part in the Pokédex Holders' group photo, but he wisely stood at the very edge, leaving the chance to be seen to the others.
