"Clack, clack, clack..."

Red light blazed in the Rune Golem's eyes. With its heavy armor shed, its entire body seemed to have slimmed down. It had lost some of the imposing presence its weight gave it, but looked much more agile.

The runes Lincon had inscribed did not merely cover its surface; they extended deep inside the golem as well.

The precision-school runes pulsed with faint white light, while the dominion-school runes blazed scarlet.

As the light flowed, the Rune Golem began to move mechanically. Its fanged jaws opened and closed, letting out a low growl.

Its hind legs tensed as though they had muscles. With a thrust of its paws, it displayed something of a living tiger's agility and ferocity.

Using the flying stone fragments from its discarded armor as cover, it rushed in front of Violet in the blink of an eye. Its forepaw slammed down, sending him flying.

"Thud!"

The blow carried tremendous force, far beyond that of an ordinary ability user. Violet's back hit the ground, and he howled in pain.

But he quickly sprang back up. As lightning surged around him, his injuries healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.

For some reason, Lincon also noticed that Violet seemed to have grown larger while taking the attack. Although the increase was slight, his keen senses still caught it.

This recovery rate already surpasses that of many mutant creatures at the same level, and the more he fights, the faster he grows. He really does live up to the Golden Cloud Thunder Tiger's A-Rank potential rating, Lincon assessed.

In pitting the two tigers against each other, he had wanted not only to test the Rune Golem's combat capabilities, but also to put Violet through his paces.

He had spent so much Life Essence repairing
