After saving Tony Stark and uncovering clues tied to Phoenix Biotech, Richard traveled to Raccoon City, where he entered the Hive and began confronting the T-Virus outbreak.

• Richard contained the Gateway of Hell in the Mirror Dimension, suffered severe injuries, and awoke in the hospital as the Ancient One faced the dimension lords and Kaecilius began doubting her.
• After leaving Presbyterian Hospital, Richard helped Mrs. Pangborn seek a cure for Jonathan and discovered that attackers were targeting doctors connected to a burned experimental girl.
• Richard investigated the Federer Laboratory fire and the deaths of Wall Federer and Alex Bulwer, then accepted Coulson’s offer to join S.H.I.E.L.D. as an external medical consultant.
• Richard helped treat wounded patients at a S.H.I.E.L.D. base, then rescued Pepper Potts and Coulson from Iron Monger before destroying Obadiah’s suit and saving Tony.

Richard dismantled the Red Mountain Group’s plot, took charge of a circle of young HYDRA agents, and helped Natasha and Melina reclaim the Red Room. At Kamar-Taj, he prepared Kaecilius to help trap Dormammu, then returned with a copied set of runes while the red cloak regretted staying behind.

• Richard killed his alter ego, escaped the Giant Eye of Thunder, and returned to Lin’s home, where he uncovered the Red Mountain Group’s surveillance and destroyed its Johannesburg branch.
• Richard forced the Red Mountain Group directors to surrender secret technologies, then returned to the Marvel world and gave Tony Stark a female artificial intelligence.
• Richard used White Queen’s investigation to find young HYDRA agents at Starlight Bar, learned of their dealings and their connection to Professor Jennings Phillips, and declared himself their boss.
• Richard exposed Natasha Romanoff’s identity, investigated the Red Room, and later rescued Natasha from Dreykov’s Sky Fortress, where Natasha killed Dreykov and reunited with Melina.

• Richard and Kaecilius planned to lure Dormammu’s avatar into a sealed abandoned dimension, with Kaecilius drawing its attention and the Ancient One helping prepare the trap.
• The Ancient One gave Kaecilius the Cloak of Protection and assigned him and Mordo to the task, while Richard tested the cloak and copied the runes of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak.
