The forest is governed by predation and strength. The killing of a single Dark-Gold Dreadclaw Bear triggers retaliation from its clan, while Xiong Jun’s bounty turns resident soul beasts into hunters pursuing the culprit. 1 3

Its population ranges from large organized groups, such as the Blood-red Baboon troop of roughly eight hundred to a thousand members, to hundred-thousand-year followers accompanying the fierce beasts. 4 15

Heavenly Tribulations can affect the entire environment: dark clouds cover the forest, lightning causes widespread panic, and weaker soul beasts flee through the canopy and across the ground. 10

Major Incidents

Xiong Jun’s Forest-Wide Hunt

After the Lion Mastiff kills a member of the Dark-Gold Dreadclaw Bear clan, Xiong Jun announces a reward for the culprit and calls upon every soul beast in the forest to search for him. This turns the outer regions into hostile territory for the Lion Mastiff. 1 3

Awakening of Gu Yuena

The battle between the Lion Mastiff and Xiong Jun shakes thousands of square meters of forest and reaches the central lake. The disturbance awakens Gu Yuena, who personally moves to confront the crisis after judging Di Tian’s intervention too risky. 13

Fierce-Beast Encirclement

Gu Yuena orders the forest’s strongest fierce beasts to surround and capture the Lion Mastiff alive. The resulting clash devastates vegetation around the battlefield, with shockwaves uprooting trees and severing Myriad Demon King’s vines. 15

Tribulations and Internal Upheaval

The Lion Mastiff’s rapid advancement repeatedly brings Heavenly Tribulations over the forest. During his two-hundred-thousand-year tribulation, the fierce beasts retreat to avoid being caught in the lightning, allowing him to kill Demon Spirit. 16 17

Afterward, Demon Spirit infiltrates the fierce beasts as a Wraith Servant, enabling the Lion Mastiff to locate and ambush the isolated Myriad Demon King. 18 19

Human–Soul Beast Alliance

Shrek Academy’s elite intervenes within the forest to rescue Zi Ji from the Lion Mastiff. Although Shrek and the forest normally maintain an uneasy relationship, Di Tian and Bi Ji later cooperate with Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe to hunt their shared enemy. 22 24

Divine Punishment over the Forest

The delayed three-hundred-thousand- and four-hundred-thousand-year tribulations merge into an unnatural Divine Punishment manipulated by Tang San. Its black clouds shroud much of the Star Dou Great Forest, while crimson lightning distorts space and threatens to destroy the Lion Mastiff completely. 27 28

Relations with Humans

• Shrek Academy — Maintains an uneasy coexistence with the forest; its hunting of soul beasts has previously drawn Di Tian’s attention. 22
• Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe — Enter the forest to save Zi Ji, then join Di Tian and Bi Ji in a temporary coalition against the Lion Mastiff. 22 24
• Tang San — Observes the forest from the Divine Realm, investigates its abnormal tribulation traces, and later interferes directly through manipulated Divine Punishment. 20 27 28
• Da Ming and Er Ming — Former kings of the Star Dou Forest sent by Tang San to eliminate the Lion Mastiff after his rise threatens the existing order. 29
