Background / History

A 30,000-year Dark-Gold Dreadclaw Bear controlled territory in the outer Star Dou Great Forest. It confronted the newly reborn Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff over a dead Soft Bone Rabbit, arrogantly expecting its greater cultivation to secure an easy victory. Instead, the mastiff shattered one of its paws in a direct clash, then crushed its skull with a second claw strike. 1

The mastiff consumed the bear’s flesh and Soul Ring. Absorbing the ring mutated the mastiff’s claws with the bear’s ultimate gold attribute, granting them the ability to cut through iron easily. 2 The killing provoked the clan’s leader, Xiong Jun, to issue a forest-wide bounty for the culprit. 3

Xiong Jun eventually confronted the mastiff after the latter reached the hundred-thousand-year threshold. Despite Xiong Jun’s exceptional durability, experience, and Dark Gold Dreadclaw, the mastiff exploited his speed and repeatedly wounded him. 12 After biting a massive piece of flesh from Xiong Jun’s waist, the mastiff activated the bloodline it had absorbed from the clan and gained the Behemoth bloodline and Heaven-Rending Claw. 13 Xiong Jun was defeated but survived through Gu Yuena’s intervention and Bi Ji’s healing. 14 15
