Ye Fan is Jiang Yun’s younger cousin and longtime business partner. After Ye Fan graduated, Jiang Yun helped him establish a company; the pair split ownership of their City B branch equally. Their relationship had been close since childhood, with Jiang Yun regularly bringing Ye Fan along on outings. 1

He attends a university reunion on Mount Tai when the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin descends. Though alarmed by the dragon corpses and ancient bronze coffin, he remains composed and urges Jiang Yun to leave the dangerous site. The activation of the Five-Colored Altar prevents their escape and carries them into the starry sky. 1

Ye Fan’s mother is Jiang Yun’s biological aunt. After returning to Earth and later settling in the Jiang Family, Ye Fan’s mother has her name entered into the Jiang Family genealogy, making Ye Fan a maternal relative of the Eastern Wilderness Jiang Family as well. 227

He values independence and self-respect. Although deeply grateful for Jiang Yun’s resources and protection, he refuses to remain dependent on his cousin or live as a burden within Jade Cauldron Paradise. 17

His response to setbacks is persistence rather than resentment. After Jiang Yun defeats him in a spar, Ye Fan studies the Dao Scripture more diligently; when his Sacred Body’s enormous resource demands become clear, he chooses to travel in search of a solution. 11 17

Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin

Ye Fan is present at Mount Tai when the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin descends. He is drawn onto the Five-Colored Altar with his classmates and Jiang Yun, beginning the group’s journey beyond Earth. 1

On Mars, he joins Jiang Yun and Pang Bo in investigating the ruins, obtains the ancient bronze lamp, and secretly takes the Bodhi Seed from the collapsing Bodhi Tree. 2 3

Desolate Forbidden Land

Ye Fan shares the bronze coffin’s ancient inheritance with Jiang Yun and survives its dangers through Buddhist protection. 5

Within the Desolate Forbidden Land, he consumes Sacred Fruits with Jiang Yun and Pang Bo. The fruits rejuvenate the trio while most of their classmates become elderly, and their lingering power later helps Ye Fan overcome the first barrier of his Sacred Body. 6 7

Jade Cauldron Paradise

Although the Cave Heaven elders initially covet Ye Fan’s physique, they abandon him after recognizing the Ancient Sacred Body’s cultivation curse. Jiang Yun persuades Elder Ma Yun to admit him to Jade Cauldron Paradise regardless. 8 9

There, Ye Fan studies the Dao Scripture, learns from Little Dingdang, and begins cultivating with resources supplied by Jiang Yun. 10 11 12

Departure from Jade Cauldron Paradise

After opening his golden Sea of Bitterness and forming two Divine Patterns, Ye Fan leaves to explore the Eastern Wilderness and seek a way to break the Sacred Body’s curse. Jiang Yun supports the decision rather than restraining him, believing Ye Fan can only become “Heavenly Emperor Ye” by forging his own path outside the sect. 17

Persecution and Early Eastern Wilderness Travels

Ye Fan travels through the Great Wilderness and reunites with Pang Bo, only to become entangled in the Demon Emperor Tomb incident when an old demon controls Pang Bo’s body. Spiritual Void Cave Heaven blames Ye Fan for the loss of an Immortal Seedling, leading Elder Han to pursue him; Ye Fan ultimately kills Elder Han and survives through extended secluded cultivation. 111

He later suffers further pursuit from a Shaking Light disciple because of his connection to the Desolate Forbidden Land. Breaking the Sacred Physique Curse

With Jiang Yun’s planning, Emperor Weapon protection, a Two-Revolution Golden Core, the Qilin Elixir seed, and a mountain of more than twelve million jin of Source, Ye Fan attempts the forbidden breakthrough into the Four Extremes Secret Realm near the Desolate Forbidden Land. 124

He survives the Nine-Character Heavenly Tribulation and enters Four Extremes, but the Great Dao manifests a Primordial Dao Diagram to erase his Sacred Physique. The combined resistance of several Emperor Weapons proves insufficient until a terrifying being from the Desolate Abyss destroys the diagram with a single attack, permanently overcoming Ye Fan’s inherited curse. 125

Northern Region and Source Arts

Jiang Yun gives Ye Fan the Source Heavenly Book, five million catties of Pure Source, and the means to acquire the vast additional resources demanded by the Sacred Physique. Ye Fan becomes absorbed in the Northern Region’s Source Stone culture, rapidly develops Source Arts, and earns millions of jin of Source through stone gambling. 111 119

He later exchanges Xuanhuang Mother Qi Essence with Jiang Yun and refines the materials he acquires into the foundation of his powerful cauldron. 113

Heavenly Court and the Starry Sky Ancient Road

Ye Fan founds the Heavenly Court with Central Lands cultivators, choosing the name despite its dangerous historical associations. Jiang Yun supports the decision because Ye Fan must establish an independent path rather than remain perpetually sheltered. 246

After returning to the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, Ye Fan confronts the opening of the Immortal Road as a Great Accomplished Sacred Physique.
