Background

Ye Fan is Jiang Yun’s younger cousin and longtime business partner. After Ye Fan graduated, Jiang Yun helped him establish a company; the pair split ownership of their City B branch equally. Their relationship had been close since childhood, with Jiang Yun regularly bringing Ye Fan along on outings. 1

He attends a university reunion on Mount Tai when the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin descends. Though alarmed by the dragon corpses and ancient bronze coffin, he remains composed and urges Jiang Yun to leave the dangerous site. The activation of the Five-Colored Altar prevents their escape and carries them into the starry sky. 1

Ye Fan is present at Mount Tai when the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin descends. He is drawn onto the Five-Colored Altar with his classmates and Jiang Yun, beginning the group’s journey beyond Earth. 1

On Mars, he joins Jiang Yun and Pang Bo in investigating the ruins, obtains the ancient bronze lamp, and secretly takes the Bodhi Seed from the collapsing Bodhi Tree. 2 3

Desolate Forbidden Land

Ye Fan shares the bronze coffin’s ancient inheritance with Jiang Yun and survives its dangers through Buddhist protection. 5

Within the Desolate Forbidden Land, he consumes Sacred Fruits with Jiang Yun and Pang Bo. The fruits rejuvenate the trio while most of their classmates become elderly, and their lingering power later helps Ye Fan overcome the first barrier of his Sacred Body. 6 7
