Background / History

Mark was Xie Ran's AI assistant in their original world. When Xie Ran fell unconscious and faced possible brain death, Meng used Zhuzi Technology's consciousness-copying technology in an effort to preserve him. An error created a quantum superposition, scattering Xie Ran's consciousness across parallel worlds and merging it with alternate versions of himself. 13

While the recovery program was being repaired, Meng secretly entered the superposition state to search for Xie Ran. Xie Ran's use of the name Meng Feixuan for his virtual-idol project gave Meng an additional marker with which to locate him. 13

Meng first appeared at Xie Ran Studio's launch as an unimpressive animated virtual idol. During the press conference, he recognized Xie Ran by the arrangement of his consciousness atom clusters, addressed him as “Sir,” and transformed into a lifelike holographic body.
