He groggily opened his eyes. The dazzling sunlight was hard to adjust to at first, as though he had crossed from the deep darkness of his dream into reality.

"You have the best potential out of this batch of newcomers." A rich, resonant voice rang out beside his ear.

"What the hell?" Xiao Yan rubbed his eyes and got up from the ground. Beneath him lay soft, lush green grass. "Turn off your light bulb, thanks."

Su Lin had his Light God turn the brightness down to its lowest setting, and their surroundings returned to a quiet forest dotted with firefly lights.

"Do you remember what happened earlier?" Su Lin asked.

Xiao Yan shook his head. "Feels like I drank myself into a blackout. How long was I out?"

"Just a few hours." Su Lin breathed a sigh of relief and patted Xiao Yan on the shoulder. "Get up and pack your things. Check whether you left anything in Liuli Pavilion or anywhere else."

With that, Su Lin headed straight toward the others in the distance. Xiao Yan surveyed his surroundings and only then realized he was on Water Mirror Peak.

He stood and stretched, discovering an indescribably satisfying ache throughout his body. Immense strength surged through his flesh, and Dou Qi streamed endlessly along his meridians into every acupoint.

"Must've been one satisfying drinking session. Even wandered off in my sleep." Xiao Yan grinned, showing a mouthful of white teeth, and followed with a spring in his step. "Boss Su really splashed out this time."
