The woven flames set the Matou Estate crackling. Sparks danced upward toward the torn clouds.
Stars and a hanging moon illuminated Shirou Emiya's youthful face. A scorching gust stirred the boy's hair.
"Am I really not dreaming, Senpai?" Wrapped in a blanket, Sakura Matou curled up in Shirou Emiya's arms, her eyes fixed on the scene as though she wanted to burn it into her memory.
"Of course not." Shirou Emiya answered her as he stood in midair, then slowly descended and set her down.
He released the array binding Rider and retrieved several weapons, only to find that Rider had vanished.
One glance at the burning Matou Estate told Shirou Emiya what had happened. He raised a finger, and the Purple Jade Sword, one of the Nine Divine Weapons, shot out of the earth as a streak of light and flew into his hand.
He had Duan De to thank for it. The sword was one of the Nine Divine Weapons, a prized treasure of the Yuhua King.
Duan De had previously taken it out of his divine cache to add to the selection. Shirou Emiya still found it extremely difficult to project Royal Weapons, especially the finest ones, but in the Simulated Universe, he had practiced again and again at the cost of burning himself away.
He could always be revived by Su Lin. After dying time after time, he had finally finished analyzing the sword.
"Sakura." Rider appeared beside Sakura Matou and tossed down a seaweed-haired boy. "Are you all right?"
"I'm fine." Sakura Matou looked at Rider, then suddenly grew anxious. "My brother..."
"He only fainted." Rider shook her head and looked at Sakura Matou's hand, where a Command Spell had appeared. "The Book of the False Attendant has been destroyed."
