Someone was actually asking a Demon Earl whether he believed in Holy Light?

"I admire the first person who believed in Holy Light," Su Lin said, his tone earnest and his expression solemn. "For all they knew, it might have been poisonous."

The Demon Earl froze, then the corners of his goatlike mouth stretched wide, and he burst out laughing. "Hahahahaha!"

It reminded him of some foolish believers he had encountered, clutching symbols of their church and babbling a string of useless incantations to drive out demons.

Light Spells were common enough. They could even cause living beings to develop faith over the course of evolution.

Unfortunately, light-based spells had a special effect only on low-ranking Primordial Demons from various worlds.

They, who were born in the Abyss, were nothing like those Primordial Demons bound by their native laws. With study, they could master that power too.

And Su Lin was asking whether he believed in Holy Light?

"That's a good joke!" The Earl stroked his goatee, his voice deep. "Fanatics who still cling to faith at your level of strength are even better! Let me guess..."

"Do you worship the Sun God? The Light God? Don't tell me it's God Almighty?"

Frankly, if that cup of blood could bring Su Lin down, the rest of them would probably meet the same end. It had nothing to do with cultivation or strength; it was purely a matter of resistance.

Earl Xiemoke froze the slippery creature, then rubbed his stinging eyes. The main force of his legion
