"Xiao Yao, we meet again."
In the preparation room, Zhou Lin greeted Shan Yao.
"Senior Zhou Lin."
Shan Yao nodded to Zhou Lin, put on her helmet, and felt her heart beating a little fast.
She was already a G1 jockey, yet this race still felt different to her.
Perhaps Shadow Hunter's arrival had brought her good luck, leaving her with a different kind of affection for the colt.
Shan Yao thought this as she patted her cheeks and fastened her helmet securely.
"Good luck, Senior Zhou Lin."
"You too, Xiao Yao."
Shan Yao picked up her riding crop and walked out of the jockeys' room first, with Zhou Lin close behind.
The parade ring under the sunlight looked much the same as it had during the Eight Min Grand Stakes, except the sky was overcast.
The shutters showed no sign of stopping. Far more reporters than at an ordinary G2 race frantically snapped photos of Shadow Hunter and Feet on the Ground.
Shan Yao quickly spotted the chestnut figure staring at Feet on the Ground, flames seeming to flicker in his large eyes.
Across from Shadow Hunter, Feet on the Ground had also stopped there, staring back with fighting spirit in his eyes. He remembered this red horse who had crossed the finish line alongside him three months ago.
"Yao, good luck!"
Lin Zhi, who had deliberately put on a suit as he helped Shan Yao mount, spoke to her.
Taking the reins Zheng Shan handed over, Shan Yao nodded. "I will!"
Zheng Shan patted Shadow Hunter's head and glanced at Shan Yao without saying anything, but she knew it was encouragement as well.
On the other side, Ding Peng had found Feet on the Ground too. He stroked the bay racehorse's forehead, then mounted with Wen Ze's help.
