Eastsea City, Eastsea Academy.
The dormitory building was blue and white throughout, with sharp angles and a total of twelve floors.
Fang Ming's dormitory was on the first floor, room number 101.
The hallway was bustling with voices. These past few days were the peak period for new students reporting in.
Besides the new students coming and going, quite a few parents had accompanied them. Everything seemed somewhat noisy and chaotic.
He pushed through the crowd with some effort and finally arrived outside Dorm 101.
Fang Ming raised a hand and pushed open the door. A standard four-person dormitory came into view.
The room was spacious and bright, with four single beds arranged along either side against the walls.
Each bed came with its own desk and wardrobe. The layout was simple and orderly, without a trace of unnecessary decoration.
After all, Eastsea Academy students were here to cultivate, not to enjoy themselves.
The pale blue curtains billowed in the breeze. Sunlight streamed through the gaps, casting mottled patterns of light across the floor.
Other than Fang Ming, his three roommates had not arrived yet.
Fang Ming took his luggage from his storage ring and began arranging his bed and personal belongings.
He spread the sheets, folded the quilt, and set out his toiletries, his movements crisp and efficient.
Just then, his Soul Guidance Communicator rang.
Fang Ming glanced at the caller ID—Teacher.
He pressed the answer button.
"Hello, Ming'er, have you arrived at Eastsea Academy?" Leng Yaozhu's gentle voice sounded.
"I have."
Fang Ming replied, "Teacher, did you come to Eastsea City?"
"Yes."
There was a hint of amusement in Leng Yaozhu's voice. "As expected of my Ming'er. So clever."
"Teacher..."
Fang Ming sighed helplessly.
His teacher was perfect in every way, except she always loved teasing him.
"Alright, alright."
Leng Yaozhu chuckled, her tone growing more restrained. "Teacher won't joke around anymore. Let's talk business."
"Teacher, what did you come to Eastsea City for?" Fang Ming asked, already having a guess in his heart.
"Hmm..."
Leng Yaozhu pondered for a moment before slowly saying, "If nothing unexpected happens, you'll soon have a junior sister."
"A junior sister?"
Fang Ming raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Yes."
Leng Yaozhu spoke casually. "I came to Eastsea City to see you, and while I'm here, to assess a girl named Gu Yue."
"I see..."
Fang Ming had expected as much.
"Ming'er, I'm waiting for you at the Spirit Pagoda," Leng Yaozhu said gently.
"Alright, Teacher."
Fang Ming answered, and the communicator promptly ended the call.
He looked around the dorm. He had already finished putting away most of his things, and his other roommates had yet to arrive.
Rather than wait around here, he might as well use this time to see his teacher.
Fang Ming did not hesitate. He casually shut the door behind him and left Eastsea Academy.
He hailed a Soul Guidance taxi at the school gate and gave the driver his destination.
The vehicle moved steadily through the streets of Eastsea City, while the urban scenery flashed past the window.
Eastsea City was far more prosperous than Aolai City. Its roads were broad, its buildings towered high, and Soul Guidance vehicles flowed endlessly through the streets.
The shop signs lining the roads were dazzlingly varied, while pedestrians came and went in a lively scene.
Eastsea Spirit Pagoda.
Fang Ming paid the fare and got out.
The moment he entered the lobby, a Spirit Pagoda staff member hurried over to greet him with a respectful attitude.
"Young Master Fang Ming, please come with me."
He led Fang Ming into a dedicated Soul Guidance elevator and went straight to the top floor of the Spirit Pagoda.
Fang Ming arrived outside the office Lu Feng had prepared for Leng Yaozhu and lightly knocked on the door.
"Come in."
A cool voice came from inside.
Hearing that, Fang Ming pushed the door open and entered.
Inside the office at that moment,
Leng Yaozhu sat behind the desk, composed in posture, her gaze carrying a hint of scrutiny.
Lu Feng stood before her, with a young girl beside him.
Gu Yue, the Elemental Emissary, was the one he had recommended.
The girl wore a long white dress. Her jet-black hair was tied into a neat ponytail that hung behind her back, revealing a delicate yet cool face.
Her entire person exuded an aloof, ethereal air.
As Fang Ming entered, all three pairs of eyes fell upon him.
"???"
Fang Ming was somewhat puzzled.
"Ming'er, you came at just the right time."
Leng Yaozhu said, "Help me test Gu Yue."
Fang Ming had just wanted to refuse when he saw Leng Yaozhu's gaze, which left no room for refusal.
He could only nod.
"Let's go. We'll head straight to the testing room."
Leng Yaozhu rose to her feet.
And so, the four of them left the office and arrived at a testing room.
The room was empty and spacious. The floor was laid with hard Soul Guidance alloy plates, while the walls were covered in defensive runes, enough to withstand the aftermath of battles between high-level Soul Masters.
Leng Yaozhu stood to one side, with Lu Feng beside her.
"Fang Ming, Gu Yue, begin."
Fang Ming spoke first. "Fang Ming, martial soul Flame, level thirty-eight Soul Elder."
"Gu Yue, martial soul Elemental Emissary, level thirty-eight Soul Elder," Gu Yue said coolly.
"???"
Fang Ming paused slightly, thinking, This little Gu just copied my level outright.
"So this was the Fang Ming Na'er had been thinking about day and night."
Gu Yue was also sizing Fang Ming up.
She observed the young man before her. His features were clear and handsome, his temperament calm and steady. He did indeed seem somewhat different from others.
But she could not understand why the dignified Silver Dragon King would fall in love with a human.
Gu Yue did not believe it, nor could she possibly fall in love with a human.
Fang Ming said nothing further and attacked directly.
A ball of green flame appeared in his hand.
The flame flickered quietly, radiating a heart-palpitating aura.
The next moment, the flame transformed into streams of fireballs that smashed toward her with howling force.
Gu Yue remained composed and lightly waved her hand. Behind her, three soul rings—two yellow and one purple—lit up in succession, their light flowing.
First soul skill: Elemental Tide!
Second soul skill: Elemental Control!
Elemental power between heaven and earth gathered like a tide, and the air filled with dense elemental energy.
Unlike Na'er, who wielded the Silver Dragon Spear, Gu Yue had inherited the Silver Dragon King's most formidable elemental abilities.
Neither of the two soul skills had any offensive power. Their effects were to greatly increase Soul Power intensity and cause the elemental power in the surroundings to surge dramatically.
Gu Yue's fighting style was to control multiple elements and bombard her enemies.
"Water Barrier."
A clear curtain of water appeared out of thin air before her.
The fireballs crashed fiercely into the water curtain, producing hissing sounds and a great amount of steam that instantly filled the space between them.
"Wind Blade!"
Seeing the vast amount of steam, Gu Yue immediately opened with the wind element.
Azure light flashed, condensing into sharp wind blades.
A piercing shriek rang out as the wind blades tore through the air, sliced apart the steam, and shot toward Fang Ming.
Fang Ming's pupils contracted slightly. His body flashed, and his nimble footwork carried him past the first wind blade.
But more wind blades followed close behind, sealing off every route of retreat from all directions.
"Interesting."
The corner of Fang Ming's mouth curled slightly as the green flame in his palm surged.
The flames instantly exploded, transforming into a blazing wave of fire that spread outward in all directions.
The wind blades struck the fire wave and were instantly melted away by the high temperature.
"Gu Yue, you've already lost..."
